Not expecting Freeh to report before mid Feb. I did think they might do an early report just in the cash balances, and it’s still possible, but looking a bit less likely. So volatility through to mid Feb, unless Freeh issue something. The final fortnight of Feb could be interesting. I personally think the JPM assessment if the MW case points the way to what Freeh will say. JPM are at the heart of the USA establishment. And Freeh are not far from it either.

The only info we have re conference call is from Krupa, so it is not open to PIs. It is a bit difficult to know what NMC can say until Freeh reports something. But they might pop an RNS out. And the market always seems to front run news. It’s gone up this morning.

The last 4 posts all from you. You’ve gotta be short, or have an Exposure some sort to this. No one who’d sold out a month ago would spend all their weekend desperately trying to talk it down. The price is controlled by bots. Nothing any of us say will make any difference.

I understand your points mafiosi, and NMC attempted to address them in their response on 19 Dec. Bu5 they have now appointed Freeh to conduct an independent investigation, and to report, so there isn’t any point in the Company trying to pre-empt that. Personally, I’m going to hold until the report comes. I admit that I did hope a preliminary report on cash balances would come this week, but I can live with being disappointed on that.

That is because they’d have to write off part of the loan mafioso. In this case, they’ve been repaid in full.

Yes, and that is apparently it for margin call dumps. Could be a lurch down first thing. Might try and buy some more if I can sell something else quick enough.

We will find out what discount, if any, when they announce the result. Most likely before the market opens tomorrow. Mr Trader - how many more margin calls. It depends entirely on how much further the sp declines. If it went to £6, unlikely in my view, but hypothetically, I am sure that would trigger a succession of margin calls. We do not know where the thresholds are.

But apart from the short term turbulence, it is actually a big positive that major shareholders are being forced to divest some of their holdings. The more it’s spread, the better.

Another margin call? Muddy Waters are seriously p*ssing off some very rich people in the Middle East. I’d probably advise not taking a holiday there for a while. Seriously though, this is around 7% of the previous dump, and Deutsch Bank had some incentive to extract as much value as possible, because of their own terrible financial state. So I’d be surprised if these get discounted down to £12. But it will be interesting to see what the market are prepared to pay for NMC in this distressed forced sale situation.

TBP it looks like Realist made good money shorting nmc just before the lurch down to £12. We’re all here to make money, so well done. Not sure why he/she is still hanging round the board. I’d have thought there were better shorting opportunities out there now. SOU for one, looks like it might go to zero in short order. But it’s an open BB so anyone can post if they want. BTW, I’d be extremely grateful if you could share your research which presumably verifies MW’s thesis, and rubbishes JPM’s research. JPM being a tuppeny halfpenny outfit, that should be easy.
