Wonder if the price slump breached loan covenants or some such, so they are being forced to sell. The market will 3xtract it’s pound of flesh if that’s the case. They need to raise $490million from nmc shares however many they have to sell.

Continuing debt reduction, productivity forecasts & cost of production will be the headline for me. They can’t control commodity prices.

I’ve seen several posters suggest that the free float here is limited. Does anyone know what it is, even roughly? Given that the share buy back programme could potentially remove 10% of the shares?

Also, they haven’t released an RNS about buying any back yesterday. Maybe keeping powder dry for today? To help exert a short squeeze? Although I suspect Muddy have already closed most of their short position - they’ve had plenty of opportunity to grab an ample profit.

The share buy back programme has a lot of dry powder. Anyway, the market is still searching for the price. It probably won’t go as low as it went on a Monday, or as high as on the first rebound, but still money to be scalped from the yo yo until it settles.

Noggers, I think the Board wanted them gone, and didn’t want to wait on Carapa, in case a good result led them to dig in. What went on in the boardroom didn’t have anything to do with Carapa.

Has anyone seen the HSBC broker note? I was wondering what assumptions they’d made to derive that estimate. Or was that just the price when some hungover teenager dashed the note off? Brokers notes are rubbish anyway.
