Nearly there (1700). Markets starting to realise the threat to the travel outlets which have a much lower footfall and this is likely to continue for a good while. Flybe has pretty much closed many regional airports and flying in general is at a low.

Sorry my prediction was a day out but still pretty much correct and the fall was 6% not 4%. Always hard to get it bang on. Next step is govt intervention to ban travel from a few more risky countries than ours. However with customer numbers now so low they maybe don't need to bother.

So, another Carnival cruise ship off California has 11 passengers and 10 crew members "potentially" infected. The US has been really slow to get its testing off the ground and there is a far higher mortality rate which suggests there's a lot more carriers going around than they have tested. Of course the US with its private healthcare companies will be wanting to pass the cost from pillar to post, by which time there will be significant outbreaks. Reports suggest uninsured Americans have to pay $1000 for a test so you can imagine many will not bother. I am waiting for another big dip on already topped out US markets once they wake up realise what is happening and that there's not much they can do to stop it.

I think you are right - as coronavirus spreads the catering CPG do for airlines, companies, hospitality events and schools will be significantly hit. The only positive is that they will recover once the virus dies down and all gets back to normal. The experts are saying 4 - 6 months for this virus to pass through. The SP is probably oversold, markets tend to overreact and yes they will suffer but this is already factored in the SP. This is a strong company and you can get the shares at a 20% discount to what you would've paid a month ago.

So sorry for flybe - their employees, their customers and the knock on effect on the supply chain. Flybe was a company that treated its staff and customers well.

That's 4 airlines in 4 years - Monarch, bmi, Thomas Cook and now flybe. The business is so unpredictable and constantly subject to the vagaries of one thing or another - governments, oil prices, strikes, climate change issues, crashes, viruses, etc., etc. If you look around the globe airlines are suffering everywhere.

All good news for Greta. As the virus spreads and more cases are found in France, UK, Spain and Germany I fully expect further cancellations and refunds to customers.

Three days after EZJ and IAG, Ryanair finally issue a profit warning RNS at 4pm today. Mikey says "This is a time for calm". Nice to know when your shares have lost 30% in 3 weeks. In the RNS, Ryanair are planning to prune their flight schedule for March and April - this might allow pre-booked customers to get refunds or to claim compensation.

This virus kills the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions - not really BOO's target market. Even if people are home isolated and schools closed then great for online buying, less danger of contact with infected people in the shopping centre. The SP is very good value right now.
