Likewise I won’t be selling any time soon. Got in low two years ago and reaping some nice paper gains at the moment. It’ll be interesting to see what future dividends they will pay. I know it’s 20% PAT this year, it would signal confidence if they upped this to, say 30% next year.

Picked this up;

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair (RYA.I) said on Thursday it would cut 12% of its traffic through German airports, making good on threats to reduce its presence in the country due to some of the highest location charges in Europe.

The cuts, which will result in a loss of 1.8 million seats from the start of the summer flight plan in April 2025, will see Ryanair close its Dortmund, Dresden and Leipzig operations as well as reducing its Hamburg operations by 60.

Having only been an EZJ share holder for just only two years I’ve only experienced the dividend this March. I know it is going to increase to 20% of PAT in March (circa 12 to 15p I think) but I understand EZJ has historically paid out very good dividends (I’m sure I read some criticism of this some years ago). Any views on whether, going forward, EZJ are likely to increase the PAT percentage? I know it’s all a bit crystal ball but any thoughts? If they announced an increase to 30% PAT for the next financial year surely that would increase the SP; all bearing in mind the profit must be there in the first place!

I still think they are missing a bit of a trick with the Holidays marketing. I think they need to specifically mention Short Breaks as well. I see Jet2 advertise City Breaks.

Slight reduction in declared shorts to 0.89%, Barclays raises EZJ to 700.

I note that declared shorts have reduced from 1.02% to 0.93%. GLA.

So that works out as a divi of about 15p per share.

A further slight reduction in shorts, now 0.98%.

I see declared shorts are down to 1.02%.

Feeling lucky you ask. I’d describe myself as an optimist who carries a raincoat! (Harold Wilson IIRC). Being in for the medium term, I’m quietly confident of continued growth over time but I’m not starry eyed to think it’s going to be a straight run. Suffered slightly when it previously breached 500 and topped up a bit, raising my average. It’s taken a while to claw back and I still have a fair few above the current SP. But happy with my 357 average. GLA

Only just noticed that declared shorts have reduced to 1.6%.

I won’t buy any more until I see how I get on with the first one.

@Stille. Showing my age then! Yes, O Level maths as well.

I’m pleased it’s an easy read, only studied statistics to O level! As regards your earlier comment on FOMO, I did fall foul of this but thankfully only in a limited way, resulting in my average increasing from low 300s to the current 357.

I’d like to understand more about TA, not that I would place total reliance in it of course; fundamentals and gut feel are my main driver but it would be good to have another angle on things. Can you recommend any reading/sources?

Hi all. I’m still learning (2 years since my first share purchase). Doing quite well, I have 2917 EZJ shares at an average of 357. I understand the principles of Shorts (but would never venture myself!) but I’ve often wondered what the percentage of shorts mean. At the moment the declared shorts are showing as 2.11%. Does this mean 2.11% of the 758m shares in issue? Appreciate a better mind than mine clarifying.

You are totally right, my bad. 22nd Feb was the ex Div date. Doh! on my part!
