It’s dropped to 509 or thereabouts a few times recently. Always seems to bounce back (I’m no expert in TA but this could be what is meant by “support”. Others may know better!).

Taking the 2019 figure and compounding for RPI comes out at 8.25bn. For CPI it would be 7.89bn.

@Barnety. Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear you’ve been sitting on a loss. If you hold for the medium to long term I think you’ll be fine. The fundamentals are fine, the holiday model is, in my mind, a great way of growing revenues with only marginal cost. I believe the core business will grow steadily with holidays as the icing on the cake. Good luck.

My understanding, from others’ postings, is that it is probably a deliberate decision not to as last year it resulted in a lot of market volatility and potentially misinformation causing a big drop in the share price and potentially market manipulation. I can’t evidence it of course but it sounds plausible; just look at what happened to the SP around mid to late October.

@Xhita. I love the thought of being in warmer climes at the moment but I never dismiss the UK. There are beautiful places. I love the west coast of Scotland and the Western Isles in June or September. A flight to Glasgow, West Highland line to Fort William/Mallaig and then onto the Isles. Beautiful, stunning scenery. If you haven’t, do a bit of research.

Back to the SP. Here’s hoping the imminent results will finally take it above £6. I’m not holding my breath though!

I find it encouraging that with less than flattering results from Ryanair and Wizz there has been no material pull back of EZJ (I’m probably tempting fate here!). IAG tomorrow I believe.

APD not as bad as I expected, thought there would be a significant increase.

A rise in APD wouldn’t surprise me.

I find it interesting that three times in the last week the SP had dropped to around 508 before rising again. I don’t know enough about TA (but am dabbling in a few books - thanks @Stupmy) but is this what is termed “support”? I am LT and not using TA for any decisions but I do find it interesting.

That’s an interesting point. I wouldn’t want excessive dividends to be paid at the expense of growth/share buy back. But a reasonable and sustainable dividend might generate more interest from those looking for a bit of passive income which may increase demand and raise the SP as well. I’m not here per se for the dividend, I got in expecting the SP to grow. The dividend is a nice-to-have bonus to me, not a reason for me to hold shares.
