RE: Senior Defence Liaison position10 Dec 2025 07:24
What does a Senior Defence Liaison Officer do I asked and this was the response.
A Senior Defence Liaison Officer (SDLO) acts as a crucial bridge, connecting military, government, industry, or international partners to align operations, share vital information, and ensure strategic goals are met, often focusing on technical needs, procurement, or international cooperation, bridging gaps between high-level policy and on-the-ground execution. They manage complex relationships, identify capability gaps, facilitate joint projects, and represent senior command's interests in diverse environments, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability.
To me that is one heck of an important and, crucially for ALRT, influential role. Given its importance, it will take time to fill the post IMHO. The successful candidate will not be any old PR type bozo by any means.
