I am not sure that Whitespace would ever takeover ALRT.

With a current market cap of circa £34 million and, likely to be much higher come the New Year, Whitespace would need to offer at least £42.5 million, being a 25% premium.

Why would it lumber itself with that kind of debt?

My thinking has always been that ALRT will be taken over by one of the big players e.g. Qinetiq. £40,50, 100 million would be nothing to those boys.
