Defence organisations don't need more disconnected tools. They need secure, operational environments that help connect information, workflows, decisions and learning.
We're pleased to announce a new partnership between Whitespace and Mattermost, bringing together secure mission collaboration and sovereign AI capabilities to support the next phase of operational AI adoption across defence and national security.
The partnership builds on work already demonstrated at Eurosatory 2026, where the two organisations showcased a joint operational capability designed to support teams operating across connected, disconnected and coalition environments.
Having first connected through the Oracle Defence Ecosystem programme as members of the original launch cohort, both organisations recognised a natural alignment between secure collaboration and operational AI. This partnership formalises that relationship and creates a framework for future capability development and collaboration.
As Andrew Webber, Chief Partnerships Officer at Whitespace, explains: "The future of defence technology will be built through ecosystems, not individual platforms. By bringing together Mattermost's mission-critical collaboration capabilities and Collective, our sovereign AI operating system, we're exploring how organisations can better connect people, information, workflows and learning within a trusted operational environment."
And as Jason Blais, VP of Global Public Sector at Mattermost, notes: "Mission-critical organisations require secure collaboration capabilities that can operate across diverse environments while supporting complex operational workflows."
Together, we're helping defence organisations move beyond fragmented systems towards more connected, adaptive and operationally effective ways of working.
