PC, do you think that's also what's happening with WG/CBG (more clearly special situations). Accumulation of short interest as any macro-shocks will have those companies with significant short term 'doubt' over SP trajectories, off a lot fast than the general market?

You've got to love syndicated news. That's the 5th time we've seen the same story today. FWIW, I don't believe that there was any good reason for the fall in OCDO today and bought at a very high level. I think we'll see quite a quick recovery in the short term at least.

Having started the day with no shares, I now find that I hold more shares that you could shake a stick at. Would be lovely if we've now seen the low on this!!

I that if the date the position changed was the 3rd and on the 4th the total declared shorts were 5.4, it could be that that in itself explains what I saw as a discrepency. You could be right, could be a timing issue that would have updated on the 5th/6th. Maybe as simple as that.

I did, you don't have to check far back to see that. I haven't bought though, I'm watching closely to decide about whether to or not. It's in a zone of interest for me. The contract notes were for CBG (risky profile due to an FCA investigation on comissions). I'd rather have bought the OCDO I think currently. Hopefully there's a high 'risk' premium to be had with CBG.

I've just had notification of a couple of contract notes, that was a brown alert moment right there, having forgotten what limit orders I had in place. Turns out that it wasn't me Ian as far as your chunky orders are concerned. I think I'd feel a little more restful if it had been OCDO that I'd been buying! Efficient market theory 'my ar s e', the market is mis-pricing pretty well everything I have today! Sadly, it's 'mispricing' to the downside. The whole market seems to be a very amateurish affair to be doing this to me. I can't help wondering if moving everything to the US500 is the answer?

The only positive is that I don't have any EZJ shares for the moment. Still waiting for 517.5 or lower.

It's close to (or in) boyo's buy zone for traders now. I'm busy trying to fit a new line to my chart (my current lines are very co-incident with Boyo's) to figure out where the price might find some buyers. You have to love human pschology don't you, if it doesn't quite do what you think it was going to do, force fit a line to it and you'll see clearly into the future!! From memory, boyo has 290 to 330 as the 'killing it zone', we're currently at 292 and with my forced line, I can get a buy zone around 288 to 290. I'm in the privileged position not to hold any OCDO shares currently. That'll annoy some of you I'd imagine, but she is a lovely mover.

Odd that on the 4th Jan shorts were 5.2 and now they are currently 5.14 without any reduction in declared shorts on Shorttracker.co.uk since the 3rd?. Anyone explain that? Does it imply that someone has reduced their declared short position and the data hasn't been updated or is it that one of the short players has increased a long position (data on Shorttracker is net short I believe) or is there another explanation.

In the interests of confirmation bias, I'll take is as continued reduction in net shorts and therefore a positive for the SP even though we're dropping back at the moment. You've got to love human pyschology.

BE, that's a really good point. I wouldn't put it the same way i.e. one group knowing nothing, but I like that way of thinking and it provides an interesting backdrop. Both sides could be right, I'm guessing, with time providing the arbitrage opportunity. So I guesss, short term, those short see an opportunity, longer term, those long believe this will recover. You make me feel stupid for not having looked at it in those terms. Thanks for sharing that way of thinking.
