Shares in Harland & Wolff Group (AIM:HARL) were winched up 15% to 13p after the Belfast shipbuilder said it has won a £61 million contract to upgrade the SeaRose floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Cenovus Energy Inc (TSX:CVE), the Canadian oil giant, will deliver the FSPO vessel in in the first quarter of 2024, where is expected to remain in H&W's building dock for at least three months, with a peak of around 1,000 staff and contractors engaged in the work.

The AIM-listed company expects to be paid £10 million once it has completed "pre-arrival workstreams" including inspections and procurement in the current financial year, with the outstanding balance expected to be received in 2024.

No change was made to guidance for this or next year.

Si_Derman ref 09.05 post it is just a vague memory that someone posted a LinkedIn post from I think it was the Global Talent Director that referenced a contract reason for next year and mentioned FPSO. The reason for me thinking it may not be the SeaRose but another contract is I think the quoted length was longer.

Having gone over the RNS again I have two questions. Firstly, it says the base contract value is £61m so I presume that this means that the value can go up. I wonder if there is a bonus for finishing early. Secondly, I have limited information to back this up but is there another FPSO contractor that HARL is bidding for.

Lottie123 ref 07.27 post You would think so but as this project has been in the works for at least 12 months I would have assumed that Cenkos would have already factored it into its forecasts. Not sure what Liberum is doing.

That settles the discussion the LoI was for the SeaRose. It seems the scope of work expanded as when I first heard about it last year it was a 70 day drydock. So a quarter of next year's projected revenues are banked. Hopefully HARL gets some mpre of these jobs.

This week, members of the Harland & Wolff team returned to the Isles of Scilly to continue community engagement on the company’s plans to build and operate several vessels between Penzance and St Mary’s.

First, we are responding to the Council’s Soft Market Test to design, build, operate new ferries between Penzance and St Mary’s. Our proposal would see the introduction of two Ro-Pax vessels designed for both passengers and freight. The Council’s Sea Links Project is underpinned by £48.4m Levelling Up funding, awarded by government to the islands to enable the vessel replacement programme.

Second, we are introducing a new fast ferry service from May 2024, to increase the number of day trippers to the islands through a faster, more regular, and cheaper service than currently on offer.

Third, following the acquisition of Kraken Marine Services (KMS), we are developing plans to scale both the existing KMS freight offering and develop new scheduled services between the mainland and islands.

Throughout the week, the team was delighted to visit St Mary’s, St Martin’s, St Agnes, Tresco and Bryher to share the current proposals and understand what local people want to see from their future ferry and freight services. A three-day drop-in session was held at the new Harland & Wolff office on St Mary’s, which will serve as the new booking office for the company’s operations.

We look forward to using the feedback to further develop and refine our proposals and continue to engage with residents and businesses to ensure the best possible services for the community.

Metalhead25 ref 12.41 post I agree until overturned on appeal the High Court judgement subsists so it would absent a stay be open to IslandMagee Energy to proceed on the basis of the High Court Judgement.

Cgmarmion ref 11.13 post The absence of any confirmation from HARL about any appeal is that NGC has seven days to formally serve the notice on DEARA and IslandMagee. So it may be the case that they have not been formally served with the notice of appeal.

Dawski37 I am not sure how how far the lawyers can give information about the length of court lists which are of the how long is a length of string. All the lawyers might know is how many cases have been issued. This can be worked out by the case number if you know how.

Xenor ref 13.47 post you will need to remember that the papers will in all probability have to have been served on Judith Tweed at IslandMagee Energy first. She will have to send them to JW before he can put out a RNS so I will expect a RNS tomorrow or Friday to allow for discussions with lawyers.

Kaeren ref 12.34 post why do you assume that JW was wrong on the date being the 16th just because the appeal was lodged after that date. I am sure you noted in my posts I referred to an intime appeal. (see my 12.07 post)
