Chrisatrdg ref 14.10 post I looked at the 10am and 10.30 matters that are listed and the 10am is listed For Mention which means there is something that needs to be bought to the attention of the Court. The 10.30 matter looks like it could be a full appeal hearing. This would seem to imply that the 9.30 matter is an application.

Chrisatrdg ref 12.25 post I am ot as familar with the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal as its English and Welsh counterpart but I would guess based on when the appeal notice was lodged that it is more likely a protective costs application.

SYN00GOLD ref 09.59 post I am not sure that it is going to be a dismissal. It could be an application by either party for an order of some kind.

LSE03 ref 07.13 post Thanks for this. The fact that this is another case of someone leaving a high quality company to go to HARL is reassuring. This is particularly the case where they have been at the company they left for 9+ years. They would not have done that if they had ay concerns about HARL's futurein my opinion.

This ro-ro ferry is showing on the Belfast Harbour website as arriving tomorrow. Interestingly I was using the 14 day look ahead and there is no indication of when it will be departing. It has been sometime since we have had a stay that long. Also a cross check on vesselfinder shows it has been pulled off the Heysham to Isle of Man route to go into Drydock in Belfast.

I have just seen this https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/scottish-labour-scotland-harland-and-wolff-fife-snp-b2438750.html. I find the choice of the visit interesting shows that HARL is making the right connections with the political leaders of bothn the main parties.

Lottie123 ref 16.18 If I may play devils advocate are you not in danger of inflating his ego by talking about him making him feel important. Rather than posting trying to get everyone to filter him woulda better strategy is just ignore. If noone engages him then he will just go elsewhere.

Consuela ref 13.45 post If the contracts for the maintenance of the RFA ships was going to be let within the next 12 months then you may have a point. However the current contracts expire in 2028 so I would expect the competition for the new contracts to start around 2026 so the position then is likely to be bery different. Also the point I was making is that the contracts are likely to be for lots and the rules may only allow bidding for a certain number of lots per consortium. In this situation there is a chance that HARL would pick up some lots.

Consuela ref 12.55 post why do you say that as when the contracts were let in 2018 they were let in lots to ensure work was spread around the shipyards. Also awarding the contracts to different yards would be consistent wit the National Shipbuilding Strategy.

Consuela ref 08.17 post This might actually assist HARL. Currently Cammel Laird and A&P ports hold the maintenance contracts for the RFA ships. They are split around, if I recall, four contracts. These contracts are due for renegotiation soon. The MoD may take the view that this new group cannot have all the contracts so may be restricted in how many contracts they can bid for leaving HARL to bid for the remaning contracts.

Consuela ref 13.57 post this is nothing new they are only doing this as the previous Defence Secretary outed them before the Defence Select Committee for not investing in their sites while expeting the MoD to fund improvements. Also if they did not there would be no way they can complete the Type 26 orders on time.

If you listen again at 2.50 - 3.00 I believe that JW was saying that two different large ships are coming into drydock in January and basically will keep it busy for most if not all of H1. Also we had the annual talk of cruise ships coming in. But having said that I think there may be something more specific in that.
