Consuela ref 16.25 post I am not sure if you noticed but the only thing I stated that relies on anything said by JW is the guidance. The interim results which are unaudited are done by AR. Whether the year end guidance is met will be decided by auditted accounts so it is not a question of relying on what JW says.

Based on the figures in the interim results the income generated in H1 was just over £4m a month. In response to a question from me at the last investors presentation we were assurred that the guidance figure of £100m will be met and the reasoning for this was explained. This would give a monthly income figure for H2 of £12.75m. While there does appear to be heavy marketing expenditure in H2 I do not see it exceeding the monthly income figure for H2.

Therefore I do not agree with the suggestion that there is any imminent need for an equity raise.

Wyndrum ref 14.43 I think the answer to the question you pose is yes and no. In as far as it is part of the security for the Riverstone Facility then yes it is. However, independent of this security I would say no as it would possibly complicate matters. It is more likely that IM would remain as present charged as part of a floating charge over all the assets of HARL;

Just been on the Belfast Harbour website and the departure of Cory Barge 7 has now been delayed until 17 November. If had its own tug at its disposal then it could have left two days ago. When FSS is underway this kind of delay will make it harder to deliver the contract. This makes the case for purchasing stronger when you consider the possible liquidated damages that might be involved.

Broomtree ref 12.20 post my thoughts too with a general election next year and environmental concerns the tender should go to a UK country. What they might do is award the minor vessels lot to HARL and leave Fergusons to make do the Major vessels lot and hope they do not make a pigs breakfast of it.

Consuela ref 09.32 post is it possible for you to expand on your post by providing links to the factual basis for your comment. I would observe that going by the string of announcements over then last few months that HARL may be able to trade itself into profitablity despite what the accounts say.

Lottie123 ref 18.04 post I would observe that the CPI measure of inflation which is what HMG uses is based on a basket of goods and services. It is this figure that as I understand it that the BoE is charged with keeping at 2%. What I think you are refering to is wage inflation but everyone else is referring to is the CPI measure. So everyone is in fact correct.

I would observe that when the VAT payable on drinks were changed to reflect the alcoholic content from my experience the price on non alcoolic was not changed. This is important as I think wine is used in calculating inflation.

This week, senior members of the Harland & Wolff team travelled to Australia for the Indo Pacific 2023 Maritime and Defence Conference in Sydney.

Whilst at the conference our CEO John Wood met with Admiral Sir Ben Key, The @FirstSeaLord

and Chief of the Naval Staff. They discussed Harland & Wolff’s apprenticeship schemes, our work across five markets at each of our sites and the details pertaining to Team Resolute's Fleet Solid Support (FSS) project!

Just seen this from a link on the UK Defence Journal twitter/X feed https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/scottish-northern-irish-shipyards-win-work-for-london-firm/ I note that the contributor is very pro Scottish and is a graduate from a Scottish University so there is that bias. But it is free advertisement as far as I can see.

What puzzles me is what does Austral get out of this deal? The only benefit I can see is access to the UK military and government sector. However we have the Navantia so how does this benefit HARL.
