Actually I'm not really interested in polemics New80. So they tend to wash over me. Just get annoyed with unreasonable accusations of the BoD, when the Slovene government is largely at fault, or posters on here.

A lot of nonsense for someone who's not worried if no one takes a blind bit of notice of their views.

When I say Colin should invest. Ramping? When I say the politics needs to be sorted. Ramping? When I say Colin lacks oil and gas experience. Ramping? Shall I go on? Better not.

I look at all sides of the equation. Traders only look at the upsides if looking to sell and the downsides if looking to buy in.

So not much point listening to Gerry then. Just a trader. Or reso. Another trader.

The funds. Very true. The expert on the ground is now John Buggenhagen. We have to rely on his judgement and that of Geonergo engineers to find the most cost effective way of progressing from now. I understood completely why many wouldn't trust an accountant but I would hope we can trust John. And Geonergo have the local experience with all the wells.

Those having an average in excess of 2p could well have to wait a while unless some great scheme can be devised with governmental cooperation. Today's and tomorrow's energy conference will hopefully produce answers for the BoD. Whether AST has a bright future is completely reliant on how the new BoD now take this forward.

Agree with what you say Alwaysup. The way I look at it now is that despite the years since November 2004 that AST has been involved they are only now starting to get things done. The politics needed to be sorted and, at long last, it appears it is getting that way with the IPPC issued and no apparent appeal. The engineering needed to be sorted, despite Geonergo being involved for many years, even before November 2004. Colin was never an oil and gas expert and it shows from the years lacking in getting the essentials sorted. What Cameron Davies has been doing is anyone's guess. It doesn't appear to have been much.

We are now starting from the beginning at an SP of 0.5p and an MCap of £12 million. Today Colin is starting the PR exercise proper with the government coming on side and a proper oil and gas expert as COO, in charge of operations. The accountant can take care of the admin and the accounts now, along with Louis Castro.

The future's looking brighter.

I would agree with you in that case Monarch. We certainly do need ii's. I would suggest the problems with the environmental activists and the Sloven government (up till now) are putting them off.

AST has no ii's. I thought you knew that? Colin is the only Executive Director in the company. It's his responsibility. John would be helpful as a Non-Executive Director and COO with the O&G knowledge, and should be there, and Geonergo should also be there. I expect they will be.

The CEO of the company you are invested in is presenting at a conference in Slovenia focusing on Slovenia's transition to a low-carbon society. All I have seen on this board with reference to this is sarcasm about him damaging the company further by doing so. This is the CEO of the company you are invested in. Love him or hate him it's your money.

Do I detect a bit of irony there Islandgirl? Maybe those in the data room are looking much more carefully at the data as they too could be wondering how 88E could have missed the oil.

I keep wondering why I bother to post here considering the vitriol and abuse it attracts. But I do get annoyed by the ridiculous assertions of some who can only see the downsides and act as if there are only downsides when all companies face issues. You wouldn't invest in any company if you only looked at their downsides.

Of course the attacks are intentional to harm the company and I get no where with these people as they aren't interested in any upsides or for the company to prosper. They're either traders who just want to make personal profit, even if they harm the hand that feeds them, or they are activists just intending to harm the company.

Surprised you think that Alwaysup. I believe your expertise is in oil and gas. At the very least cooperation with the Slovene government should improve sentiment with Geonergo able to access the gas more efficiently.

The reason why the SP didn't move as much as it should was mainly due to constant attacks from those who wish to harm AST on here, twitter and elsewhere. These people have a significant number of shares which they can sell to keep the SP down. They're not interested in buying shares in AST to make a profit. They're just interested in using them to keep AST down and to try to prevent or limit the gas production at Petisovci.

The BoD seem to be trying to damp down this opposition with factual presentations in Slovenia from independent experts. It is having an effect as the government is now more reasonable. But the die hard activists are not swayed and are still a thorn in the side.

I said we should be at 1p now. The future should be much more. A few comments don't make a lot of difference. Tens of comments from many people will do.

PW said he didn't even think Leigh Creek is considered in the SP. Projected to be the best earner for SML, with a ton of copper cement already produced and a guaranteed amount to come he doesn't think the SP includes it. He definitely sounded a bit down on the market's valuation of the company currently.

We should have had 1p+ today. That would be an MCap of just £24 million, before someone tells me about the number of shares now in circulation compared to before. We're not because of posts from reso, Gerry, Fastfood, New80, kelsbells, etc. frightening possible buyers and causing previous buyers to sell for a quick profit as they lose confidence. There are people who look at forums like this for info. When they see apparent considerable problems they go elsewhere.

And then there's subtle abuse like that.

An excellent RNS today with more to follow. And yet we have seen considerable abuse from those who wish harm to AST. A lot of possible downsides discussed between them with comments supporting each other.

Of course there are possible downsides! Name me any company that has none! Today was about the possible upsides. AST has had considerable head winds from the government and from the environmental activists. They have also had attacks from poorly disguised activists on here and twitter who point out the possible and actual downsides persistently, to the delectation of supporters and activists.

When their arguments are shown up they resort to abuse. Some start with abuse. Some have good points and research (reso), some have old bureaucracy and figures from the past (Gerry) and some are just confused by it all.

The common denominator is they only look at the downsides and commiserate with investors that our investment is likely to be damaged. It's an interesting psychology in destruction. It needs to stop. But Colin knows it won't and that is why he doesn't tell us much, if anything. The enemy is within.
