I’m not on about the papers or right move saying prices have dropped I’m on about the house builders aren’t going to drop properties that are say £200k to under £160k as that would be the only 20% that would count.

There is no way prices will drop by 20%, They only dropped by that amount in 2008 and we are no where near that level.

Judging by the time of year they have lost work due to the seasonal handovers and nothing to do with rising rates. Each site will have a lot of sales to complete for Christmas so new work takes a back seat till the middle of January as the handovers are more important than building some new blocks.

House builders aren’t cutting back on Labour as they need more men from an already short supply.

Iip was 1.6p a year ago and it’s about 0.37p today so it’s had a fun fall.

It’s obvious things like this would have happened as you could not evict people during Covid. They are only just playing catch up.

Will this be house builder friendly or is all the talk about big tax rises going to stall the market for a while? A new version of help to buy would be good as the government must of made money on the last one with the house price rise and owning 20% of a rising market?

No one knows what will happen to the dividend price till March next year, people can only guess.

I presume all the other house builders are the same as persimmon and they are finding it hard to cope with the sheer volume of sales. There isn’t enough trades to build the extra volume of houses that are being sold. It just means the queue for new houses will get bigger.

I have said it before but persimmon has never had this amount of sales to hand over for the Christmas handovers, I expect sales to be on the high end of their targets.

Rising interest rates don’t just affect new houses. They also affect buy to let landlords so that means rents are going up and they also affect anyone who has a mortgage that is paying base rate due to having no deal. If this is the new norm people will just have to deal with it and pay more money for both mortgages and rents.

Persimmon has never paid a special, their dividend policy is an interim and a final. It’s the websites wording that is wrong.

Contracts aren’t done until the money is sorted as it’s the same with any house buy, people have the right to pull out any time

Paddy, Using your own logic by the time your house is due to remortgage you will have to sell as you can’t afford the higher rates.
