They stand or fall by whether we get the pretty well nailed on IMO motherload RNS now or in a few weeks time.
They don't see that this RNS is a further signpost to one of the neglected but who knows may end up being as significant as cancer treatment routes to value accretion in this company.
Bottom line if Affimers supplant antibodies/aptamers etc in even some of their many uses and potential uses (and why wouldn't they)its another method this small (at the moment) company have to revolutionise medicine

has had its critics but what it did tell us clearly was that we now have a highly scalable LFD with lab sensitivity better than required (there of course have never been specificity concerns) and that we are now not confining the sample taking method to saliva but also in parallel introducing non intrusive nasal swabs. Although (per video) hurdles have had to be overcome re saliva it looks as though they have been and we should be encouraged re saliva progress.
Certainly clinical validation will involve both methods of sampling (per RNS).

But does the size and flexibility of affimers compared to other reagents make it more likely that they can successfully target the S1.
And if it can successfully targeted do you see any advantages in this strategy than in targeting the N protein?

I have filtered Merchantbanker.
When I read his posts I find myself wanting ODX to do as badly as he wants AVCT to do.

Today his tactic is to rubbish affimers.
His opening gambit was to suggest that Mologic were better off than AVCT because they could choose between aptamers and antibodies for a reagent whereas AVCT had to use nasty old affimers.
That was it! That was the argument......or so I thought till this evening.
I guess he had to expand on it somehow but surely he could have preserved just a little shred of dignity by not rubbishing the views and input of such as Leeds Glasgow and Aberdeen Unis our various JV partners Moderna and.........ahem! Mologic.

LFT's need to be used correctly.
Even the Chinese test did some good in Liverpool finding some asymptomatics that would otherwise have been spreading and contributing to them coming down a tier.
Then some numpty decided to send them to care homes and to diagnose NHS staff.
Even the Chinese test doesn't claim to be appropriate in these contexts.
Now the Government seems to have decided not before time not to order any more of the earlier LFD antigen offerings preferring to wait for better more flexible LFD's to come on stream.
They won't give up on LFD's. These tests will potentially reliably test asymptomatic people (and all who catch the virus go through an initial asymptomatic phase when ironically they can still be at their most infectious)
Neither of course will they give up on PCR ( however there may be an issue with PCR picking up virus and causing folks to have to self isolate after they reach the stage of being likely to infect others - ie its possible for PCR to be too good!)
Anyway everyone producing tests will make money.

I have filtered 9 posters. These are posters I know from experience will never come up with anything worthwhile positive or negative. I am only aware of their continued existance when other (otherwise good) posters refer to them - thanks for that guys!
I imagine thateach time someone engages with them (even by insult) they rub their little hands together and may even rub other parts of their bodies
