Will be an interesting day for them and they'll probably spike over a pound.
But nothing there that will tempt me to trade them.
Looks to me that they are almost completely hanging their hat on manufacturing (probably our test) for the government.
And in doing so are they at risk of being beholden to the government for their future success (even to the extent that an element of their capacity will be based on equipment borrowed from the government)?
Fair play to them their SP has outshone ours for the last month and probably will continue to do so today.
And I am of course biased!

I agree re this board being a good place to be.
Like any board you need a thick skin to be a regular poster and if you don't want to be bored or needlessly irritated the filter button is your friend.
But in general terms contrary views well expressed are usually as well tolerated as they would be on any board and when someone is being an arse I try to remember that I am sometimes an arse myself.

I think what we can take from recent news crowned by this mornings RNS and Giles' forensic grilling of Al is
1.Spit test going well but not the main reason for Mologic agreement.
2. Said agreement provides a. pragmatically a potential faster route to CE marking and therefor commercialisation
b. access thro Mologics contact to lower and medium income countries globally to everyones benefit
c. yet more private marketing capacity
3.Mologic have their own test. It is currently the subject of a TT with ODX. There is still presumably the tantalising possibility that what is being TT'd to ODX uses affimers as a reagent ( but probably not).
4.They are helping us because of the spirit of co-operation which has been engendered between test developers and manufacturers who are thankfully displaying a communal level of maturity which exceeds that of their supporters on these boards. Also they want our affimers so they can fulfill their mission statement for lower and mid income countries.

Well things are looking rather tasty at the moment aren't they.
The RNS seems to suggest that Condor has been as useful as a chocolate teapot.
We have perhaps had to take more of the heavy lifting re validation into our own hands than Al was expecting in the summertime.
Sad for the country.
But will not stop the inexorable progress of our still ridiculously low priced diagnostic and therapeutic juggernaut.

Probably pushing it a bit far to suggest that Surescreen and Mologic have been asked to forego some of their own test making for more sovereign capacity but can we rule that out lol

My view re your last post is
1. Al is a very ambitious man. He achieved the heady heights of Professor of molecular Biology while still a young man. A sinecure for life. In a cutting edge setting! In 2005 he forsook the cosy world of academia to enter the dog eat dog world of business. Things came up in his research that convinced him this move was worth the risk.
Maybe his colleagues whispered behind his back?
Almost cerainly hardened business execs *****ed about his chances of success and his nascent efforts to promote affimers etc.
Over the years though he began to develop more and more partnerships and surround himself with more and more expertise.
He got himself into the enviable position of a Company with the potential to be an exciting force in the therapeutics and diagnostics sector.
And potential is where the Avct garden
may have stayed for the next 10 years were it not for the current unexpected hot house conditions. No one has welcomed them but a consequence has been that there is serious cgst about being taken iver by a major.
Thoughts?
Any takeover conditions will need to match the ambitions of our CEO.

The vaccines in their current incarnation will make a difference but you just had to listen to Dido this morning to have re emphasised the importance of testing for work travel schools and entertainment.

Its interesting that on each of the NCYT ODX and GDR boards (as well as ours) the CEO is getting pelters for "poor" communication. I think that the explanation is for this is that all 4 companies have a small but vocal minority of impatient investors who prefer to moan than take responsibility for putting their own brains into gear.
To zero in on AS I agree with Leewills last post. The fact he has said all he has in the teeth of the NDA(s) shows how great a communicator he in fact remains. He must be very frustrated that he can't communicate more.
Good times coming for all the testers folks but I don't need to repeat my reasons for saying that AVCT is the soundest investment of the lot imo.

I think for NCYT now (after a wonderful year for them) is the apparent weakness of their forward vision which has always been the defining feature that attracted me to AVCT.
A pot of a hundred million quid for a billion quid company is not exciting the market if they are not clear whats going to happen to it.
On the other hand imagine how a similar pot of money would turbo charge us!

This RNS is more than just a steady as we go RNS.
