Not a single word of that RNS invalidated anything Huff reported (as opposed to the duff DHSC statements)
No info for obvious reasons on the progress of the Government validation.
The woeful lack of input from Condor and Falcon is a real indictment on the civil service response to the pandemic.

Interesting analysis but I disagree.
If you go back to Saturday the first mention of one version not passing testing but an updated version being worked on seems obviously to have been a part of the DHSC quote albeit with an extra unrequired set of quotation marks.
The replacement shortly afterwards albeit with the removal of the quotation marks at the end seems obviously to emanate from the same source.
AVCT had to correct the second version on 2 counts
The test that had been referred to was not of course saliva.
Furthermore the test had not been updated.
When Huff updated their article 3 hours after this mornings RNS they did not alter any of the second quote notwithstanding that it had been contradicted by the RNS because it was not Huffs own view. It was a quote.
As for Porton Downs ongoing involvement I see no obvious reason to doubt ANYTHING that Huff have reported since that has not been contradicted by AVCT.

I wonder why Prof Deeks thinks the data on level of infectiousness has been fudged?
The Liverpool Covid SMART Pilot Study 1 carried out for Sage made the assumption that a CT of less than 25 would pick up most infections. That assumption was based on data on Contact networks and LFT and PCR pairs on those attending regional test sites and contacts.
This is a study some of whose other conclusions have been used to rubbish INNOVA the main LFT used so far by the government (admittedly not a difficult task in some ways) by Prof Deeks.

An MP berates Boris about LFT's and he just bats it away albeit saying how good they are.
Such a lack of understanding.
A good public information campaign will do wonders.

Lets leave aside questions of suitability of one test or another.
Bearing in mind the governments aspirations to test at least 2 million (mainly asymptomatic) folks per day can PCR or LAMP do the necessary from the point of view of speed of throughput , cost, infastructure and accessibility of the service by Joe or Jill Bloggs.

Huff Post and AVCT both come out of this smelling of roses.
On the other hand the two quotes from the DHSC (which as someone said were the only things requiring correction) were both utter nonsense.
One could take a charitable view and say they arose out of blind panic!

Don't forget travel-light that the AVCT RNS's have made no reference whatsoever to the recent Porton Down evaluation.
The references to clinical validation in the Mologic RNS and this weeks S&S RNS were obviously in the context of the independent from government validation for private (and sale into Europe purposes.
All we know about Porton Down is what Huff Post and the Government Dept quoted by them have told us.
Which raises an interesting point.
Presumably the fact that the Gov Dept have apparently breached the NDA entitles AVCT to further clarify if so advised.

OK we know they're not (at least not most of them) but such coverage when it hits the US a la Bloomberg etc may make the yanks spit out their equivalent of Corn Flakes when they wake up at 2pm each afternoon!

Its great to speculate re Monday.
Have you noticed that its a general rule that if you enter a shareprice prediction competition on any particular share by putting in the lowest amount you will usually win!
This is the context for me speculating that one possibility for Monday is that we spike above £2 then fall back and end up flat.
Don't get me wrong.
I am all in here!
And my expectation is that in the near term AVCT will resolve certain financial issues for me!
But I won't be (too) disappointed in the event of the above scenario.
Its also entirely possible we'll finish Monday between 3 and 4 and I'll be entirely "made up"
There is no doubt in my mind we have the best test in the world.
But imo Patience will continue to be our best weapon for achieving the biggest rewards.
