And now the shipping forcast issued by some bloke in Devon on behalf of nobody in particular.

Lundy, the tug Venture is passing on it's way from Falmouth to Harland and Wolffs ship repair quay (SRQ)

It is "expected" to arrive on 19/05/23 at 20:20.

It is then "expected" to depart on 22/05/23 at 11:00 very closely followed by the Cory box barge Number 2.

So close in fact, that one might think that one is towing the other. ;)

Destination, London.

Ps. Couldn't spot another ten, so obviously not needed, just yet.

Yeah, not sure what was happening there, with the OW. It only came up from Dublin area and was hanging around way out from the mouth of the Belfast Lough and the Belfast anchorage. Not sure if they were just not ready with the drydock to bring her straight in. It's in now, so.....

Not been looking at sea conditions tbh. But the tug thing is interesting. The original tug they sent over to transport the CBB1 was the Dolphin. That seemed to have developed an issue as it was subsequently towed back to Svendborg and is still showing a status of restricted manoeuvrability. Another tug was then sent up from the Bristol Channel area to take the CBB1 to London for the initial delivery. I've been keeping an eye the "expected traffic" section of the Belfast Harbour site for any likely contenders, but as it stands it only shows up to the 24th.

As I'm sure they have made "optimal use" of the new robotic welding panel line" and "optimised" the production flows in readiness for other fabrication programmes. So, maybe they have arranged for a fleet of ten tugs arrive at the end of the month to take all of the first batch of barges. ;)

"The programme schedule allows for four barges to be built in tandem, with the entire build programme ending around Q2 2023."

What a great show of "on time and on budget" that would demonstrate. ;)

No worries. Looks like it's all change now anyway and the Oscr Wilde is being put on the SRQ when it arrives in a couple of hours. Guessing they are waiting for the next suitable tide later today to move it into the BBD.

You may be confusing it with the Intermediate gate. That is the one that is assembled to divided the dock into sections when required. The Building dock gate shift refers to the main gate that they have to float back over from the Commissioning Quay (OQ) where it was moved to last week. I guess they need to drain the dock to work on the Oscar Wilde otherwise they would leave it at the OQ.

Had a quick look at the original RNS and rather than a specific lengh of time it says,

" Each POC Trial is estimated to require 1,000 metric tons ("MT") of fuel to confirm engine performance on the vessel."

More details may have been given since that RNS though.

But then it goes on to say,

"Subject to positive results from the POC Trials, the fuels will undergo subsequent operational trials to provide commercial operating experience with a view to obtaining Letters of No Objection ("LONOs") from the engine manufacturer (the "Trials") after proving operational viability of bioMSAR™ and MSAR® at both an interim (midway) and final stage (after circa 4,000 operating hours)."

So yeah, 2 weeks should be more than enough. :)
