Not taken much interest here as there seemed very little point and tbh have more important issues to contend with right now. Go no time for people rub bing salt in to wounds and seemingly enjoying it. Do skim read through on occasion, like just now. Can’t believe what I just read. There’s desperate and there is dealing with the devil. I’ldbe looking to see what he’s possibly managed to sideline or trying to pick up on the cheap from the ashes of the fire sale.

Team Resolute does some sort of JV with Team UK? Keeps it on home ground as can be spread around many more UK yards and more importantly, K Jones appeased.

Saw that just after 7:00am whilst reading through today's RNS's. Made me chuckle as they are sounding just like Infra did a decade ago. If they are looking for an "expert" in getting all the necessary licenses and FEED requirements done I could point them in the direction of someone to avoid like the plague. As he just happens to be in between jobs at the moment and may be sniffing around for a new challenge to make ends meet.;)

Know someone in that exact position with regard to their son. Not spoken to them recently as I’ve been away for a few weeks. They were excited when they got accepted. Just wondering what the actual reason is for curtailing the apprenticeship scheme.

Seems to be an awful lot of belief going around. Belief, misplaced trust and blind faith in Wood got you here, but whatever works for you... I will "believe" when it's written in text in and RNS.

Not surprised, tbh. Had heard rumours re management changes quite some weeks ago. Shame to hear that the new apprentices won't be taking up their positions, though. Even if things end up with me losing every that I had left in here (more and more likely) I had hoped that the workers might have been kept in work. After the initial meeting with the Downs it had been intimated to me that the workforce had been given guarantees of job security and talk of possible future work. At the time that also included the apprentices. Obviously not the new batch. Shame.

And we are where we are because what the dynamic duo told everyone was the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Yeah, okay.

Drango mentioned KML being involved the other day and I thought, really, aren't they are one of the companies that we hire tugs from? Being partly based next door to the Appledore yard I know they also own and hire heavy lift barges, as there has been one moored just outside the dock entrance for ages. Looked on the RKH board for more info and a look for the Penguin News article mentioned but gave up and meant to return to it later.

Quick look on companies house brings up a list of companies based at the same address in Falmouth.

Something from the ashes? Maybe look no further. One to keep a watchful eye on.

Firstly, there never was a BoD. In the normal sense of the term. Wood wore all the hats. Anyone that might have had an opinion to counter him were just not present.

Secondly, there never were any other deals on the table, under the table or even in the same room. Wood alluding to any in RNS's, mentioning them in interviews was all just BS. That's why the process dragged on for so long. Scrambling around in the background trying get someone to take a punt until it all crashed down and he foxtrot oscared.

Just sayin'. IMHO.....

Groat was just JW's sock puppet. Just a yes man figurehead of a Chairman for the simple reason that Wood couldn't be seen to be doing both jobs. The other two were just trophy NED's anyway. Looked good on paper but had very little to no obvious input. They will be sorely missed. lol

As regards a sale, who besides the big two would be interested in adding capacity anyway. Once Navantia have been bought off with the promise of some non-defence contracts, a nice FSS contract as part of the package. Just who did Kevan Jones have in mind to take on the yards once him and his friends in the press had finished the hatchet job? A&P? Or was it just team UK all along, but by the backdoor and after a fire sale. I can't really see the yards north of the border staying within the group. Just keeping an eye out for what Wood might have squirreled away to bounce back with. Pound to a penny he would have planned to get his grubby little fingers into something from the ashes.
