The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Actually, if you look more carefully only 2 of the 7 were down for Marine services. 1 of the pick-up and 1 of the panel vans. The other two pick-ups, two vans and the dropside flatbed are down for In-Service Support. So imagine they are more likely be based at the Aberdeen Office, to be sent out wherever they are required.
From New Aberdeen Subsidiary RNS 3 August 2023
"... we will be focusing on in-service support including mechanical, pipework, fabrication and outfitting services. HWT's offering will allow assets to be in operation whilst being serviced by our riding crews."
I'm sure there must be quite a few more that don't get their hands dirty that are involved, but not quite the picture they were painting. " At its peak, it is estimated that there will be circa 1,000 personnel working on the vessel including the Company's staff and subcontractors." 10? lol
As I've said many times before, you have to learn to read between the lines to determine what the true meaning of what you are being told, actually is. Because sometimes there is a vast difference between reality and some of the fluff in the RNS's. Is it the same go for the headline revenue numbers spouted? Makes me wonder how much of the base contract value of approximately £61 million ends up going to the company and not just passed through to all the subcontractors?
Fwiw, for me, LSE "confirmed it was on the Sea Rose" first, with the Irish news link that had the firemen standing next to SeaRose's IMO number, 9274501. H&W employees aside, Cenovus has dozens of their own specialists onboard. So still not sure how you managed to link it to subbies for the FSS being envoled though, BT. ??
Please note the smiley at the end of post. Was just a tongue in cheek comment on the process. Any thought of excitement I might have had here has been long since beaten out of me and now just hanging on in quiet desperation... ;)
Noticed that it's been moved to a different mooring in Rosyth, and also, has now been given a destination of Belfast with an eta of the 24th. Not sure when it is planned to leave Rosyth but going to be a short turn-around given it's projected start date.
"Villa Vie say the 924-passenger ship will enter service in May this year after the completion of a multimillion-dollar transformation."

Send everything and everyone that 'might' be useful just in case and stand down what is not required once a better appraisal of the situation has been determined. That seems normal practice, knowing quite a few local part-time firemen.
The comment appeared to be more about having a dig at using subbies than the actual profession responsible. Could have been one of many dozen of contractors belonging to the Searose itself. Or a plumber. ;)
Fwiw, and as you asked. Sticking to the constraints I've set myself I did sell almost all of what I had bought back on the last peak above 12p on the 6th and some more on the 11th just under12p. Even though it had broken through that long term down trend, that latest high was, yet again, lower than the previous high. And in the absence of any substantial news I am banking on that seeing that repeat once again. For my mind the RSI is getting close to the high side of the range and I was waiting to see if it was going to run it's usual pattern and drop back to the lower side. I did buy a few back when I considered that gap almost closed but at the minute just waiting with funds either as cash or elsewhere. TBH, would rather stay in profit than see it dwindle away. Adds a bit of excitment what with so much news "expected", but I'll take my chances in losing any percentage gains if something did actually turn up, be that expected or unexpected news.
So far the plan has worked well but TA aside, and after driving back home last night after being away for the last 6 months, I am hoping to get out and about and maybe get some local news and gossip. Certainly going to nip down to Appledore once I'm settled back in. Will report back what I see and hear. Might see some of these new vessels they have been on about. Maybe the Samson or the even the Crew Transfer Vessel that they said they have aquired and are refurbing.
All good. Go well. :)
More royalties for crane shots?

If they are still going to be using the Aquabus Jet 1, where it is currently moored up is alongside a company called Uniservice 98. One of their services is pickling and painting.

Got a craving for some pickles now. :)
Flicking between reading the transcript of the Scrutiny Comittee video and writing it out here I pressed the wrong button and sent to early. He carried on to say, "... um, certainly for the first season. These guys are experts in operating highspeed ferries globaly, um, they'll come in and do the, um, bearthing trials and (Dale?) is arranging to do the pilot exemption certificate with them when they're in, um, after the first season we may bring that in house or may leave it outsourced."
You may not ever want to listen to it again but it's all there. Sooo, one way to explain the situation that may be more appealing to those that can only ever see positives is they are getting in new crew to work alongside IMS.

To use a well used phrase on here, because JW said so.

"when we look at the operations onboard the vest, on board the fast ferry, um, again we are bringing in IMS to operate the vessel on our behalf"
Okay, wrong pic but has to be H&W related as same with finance deals, "flexibility will be required around joining dates" lol
Thought they had crew sorted, but if not, aren't they leaving it a bit late for a May start if they are only just advertising for crew?
Well, we already know more cruise ships coming in as the Braemar will be in shortly after the MAS Islander leaves dry dock around the end of next month and SeaRose in until early July. Would that constitute full for most of the year?
No specific RNS but fits the bit about " assets operated by private industry on behalf of the UK Royal Navy".

As regards comments regarding the competency of the Scrutiny Committee. Well, there are always going to be those that may have more experience and knowledge in this us specific area and there will always be those that step up and get involved in local council issues and meetings. The councill members can't always be experts in every given situation. Maybe those that think the board needs a bit more knowledge on the subject may want to put themselves forward to advise the council rather than moaning from the sidelines. I think the council recognised some of this shortfall and may have taken steps to fill that gap. Had to leave site (and pc) so haven't scrutinised the list of the next meeting against the last one to see if any changes have been made. Looked like the usual suspects on a quick glance, though.
