Basilius, cases do not matter. Deaths do and they are very much under control. The trade off is the number of deaths due to ongoing restrictions - I mean from cancer, suicides, poorly managed heart disease, diabetes blood pressure etc. Whilst this fear of covid narrative continues, people are not receiving all the care they need for everything else. Then add to this, the effect of isolation, child abuse, children robbed of education and socialisation. Then there is the issue of the economy - how to pay for all the services we cherish so much.
Honestly, the obsession with cases needs to end. Sorry for the rant!

Well put Basilius. People do tend to get carried away and as money is involved, emotions run high. Cine board is actually much better than some i post on. Most on here are very decent and hope we can all continue to post in a civil manner. Disagreement is absolutely fine and not a reason to have a keyboard fight.

Anyway, back to the main topic. I accept the irregularities in the story reported, but a takeover approach is hardly surprising or unexpected. I personally am surprised this has not already happened. Netflix wanted to buy Regal when the price was much higher and netflix itself was not as big. The pandemic has shifted things significantly in the favour of Netflix. The only issue is has it changed their perspective of cinema vs streaming alone. I don't think so personally as both will co-exist in the new world of endemic covid. Most streaming giants are buying up content producers. Netflix is already a content producer. they are in fact one step ahead of Amazon. The only remaining piece of the jigsaw to complete is a cinema chain and then a package of production/streaming/theatrical showing is complete. I personally feel the swill happen and will sit tight on my shares until a big move arrives. I don't trade as have tried it and am rubbish at it. I make plenty with my buy and hold strategy which fits with my approach to investing. Greed can often lead to frustration and I have been there plenty and now am happy with my low stress approach.

Kamakiriad, I am astonished they have not already done so. The court verdict was damming and they had bet heavily on the restructure (money they claim the company has not got). Should have gone on Friday or at the very least on Monday after a period of reflection. Brass neck, shameless, take your pick.

Janiax, absolutely right. Very unprofessional RNS. The BoD should step dpwn now. Issuing threats of liquidation is laughable. They were planning a hiest that meant shareholders would lose 95% of their holding anyway, so threatening about losing an additional 5% is just laughable. Muppetry indeed.

Thanks. Perhaps i have been sloppy with my choice of words. I mean what the company are threatening. 'A controlled wind down and insolvency' or similar that thd BoD have mentioned. I realise its all emotional but im not the enemy, ive bought some ruddy shares as i think this company will come through this. Just had a question i did not know the answer to, so please advise if you know. Cheers.

Can the BoD cancel the AGM/EGM if they start bankruptcy proceedings? I presume also at this stage, share trading will halt?
I assume whatever happens this will be challenged in court and overturned but they may try every devious method available. Hope this is not an option but i don't know.

Can't surely be PI driven. II must be getting back in with the imminent resumption of cruise operations and feeling threat of the company folding has receded.

Holding on to every ine of my shares. These have been by best investment and am feeling very pleased to have kept the faith through the lows. Was always a long hold so whilst the paper gain is welcome, its not going to change my plan to hold for at least 3 to 5 years. ATB
