This has risen fast. Forecasts of 80+ were right after all. Q4 results will be very nice indeed. Share price will catch up in good time. I hope the increase in income persuades the board to increase dividend levels to pre pandemic levels. Optics of this will need a bit of PR as the public will not be happy to see increased returns while pumps are running dry. Atb

Mountainous, I don't think we disagree about 200p being a very good deal for netflix. Just feel cine is vulnerable to a bid in that region. I'm hoping it will set off a bidding war with Disney and that would make things much more interesting. Atb

Someone mentioned on Friday I was wasting my time asking PIs not to sell as it would not make any difference to SP.
Maybe, but is it not remarkable that persistent and perniciously negative posters simply vanish when good news arrives? Maybe it's coincidence, but my sense is people are paid to do this as it does influence the SP. After nearly 15 years as a PI, these trends are fairly easy to spot. But maybe I'm wrong...

Let's just say as a shareholder I would not be objecting to a 10 B takeover!

Between Mooky and Jhango they own about 35% of the company so a deal to go through will only need their blessing to stand a good chance. Mooky will take a sweetener and Jhango have a low average. I don't think it will be that hard to get a sale through St about 200, providing Mooky is on board.

Hi Mountainous, your points are all very valid of course. The reality is cine is much weaker now than 2 years ago. I feel a compromise will involve Mooky retaining a significant role and authority which would suit netflix as they do not have the pedigree of running a cinema chain.
There is also of course Disney in this equation so I'm not discounting a bidding war!
Entirely possible I'm talking rubbish after one too many, so please all make your own mind up or better still hold and see....atb

I am increasingly convinced this will happen, with mooky staying on as chief executive. IMO and this is entirely speculative musings.

It makes for a logical acquisition. Netflix has deep pockets and would be able to buy all of cine for the price it wanted to buy regal alone. It would still be at a premium to current SP. IMO we are seeing the beginning of this courtship.

For what it's worth, IMO a steady rise to over 200 is likely next week. Pullbacks due to profit taking is inevitable periodically but trend will be upwards. How high before it settles, will depend on the size of fine and how long pfc are given to pay it back.
My sense is 200-220 theh holding pattern until more contracts etc are gained as a result of the cloud lifting.
All bets will be off if a takeover approach arrives. Atb and dyor. I'm pretty happy all things considered.

Jaff, nor sure about compensation. They are not pleading guilty to bribery. Just to not doing enough to prevent it occurring. So technically it's accepting governance was not robust enough at that time. Massive change in personnel since in addition at board level. New beginning.

My2penneth, the delay and horse trading will have been on the wording of the plea agreed to. Guilty of bribery is what SFO wanted, not so was PFC's position upto now. Both have seen sense thank the lord....and have agreed on the much lesser charge of guilty of not preventing bribery. My personal take of course...

Ain't going to work. The SP will have to rise to close out those shorts. At least 2.5% were taken at below 140 so lots to buy back and they will be feeling the pinch.

After being under the cosh, it's a relief I'm sure to be in the green again. It is for me. But remember why you bought in......its got way way higher to go.
