I bought plenty below 2 pounds, but also had bought from 310 down, so average about 2.25 or thereabouts. Haven't sold a single share yet and have no intention of selling below 450. Even then will assess conditions and decide. I've been pretty consistent on this line for a while. This and shell make up half my portfolio. I could not believe people were selling up so early, when bp was about 310 and shell 13-14.
Hold on to these golden tickets folk. They are worthy of a lot more IMO.

Off topic, but I completely agree, a rebalanced tax system where wealth is taxed is long overdue. Otherwise tax increases on income will reach a point where people will stop doing additional work to stay under threshold levels. It becomes self defeating.
Wealth tax may also act as a break on the housing bubble. IMO etc

BP is making plenty of profit and I can't think of a better place (apart from RDS of course) for my money currently. Not only is there SP rise, dividends are better than most companies. Is up and away again. I suspect BP like shell may try and underplay profits so as to not be the target of opportunistic politicians taking a cheap populist shot. Buybacks in that sense allow the company to not be seen to be dishing out great rewards to shareholders, especially if these are overseas holders. IMO

Nockynoo, partnership with the Russians is the jewel in the crown of BP.....so don't be squeamish about it..IMO. This is fantastic news for shareholders

Is the volume of repetitive negative noise goes up manifold. Very irritating.

Pretty startling to see a drop in SP to these levels given the clear volume of cinema going data that has been released. There has been a ton of manipulation since BoA took up positions a few months ago and one can only assume the shares are being used to manipulate at will the SP.

I take great solace from the CEO having such a large stake and his experience of the industry is unparalleled. He seems pretty chilled and knows a lot more than I do so am happy to stay put and ignore the wretched noise. ATB and all this is IMO of course.

Smithy, I too have a similar proportion in oil. Add my pfc and its approaching 60%. Benn a tough 12 months accumulating against the grain and herd. But here we are, very glad of how it's turned out.
The time for renewable dominated energy sector will come, but its decades away. Meanwhile it was rather silly to think oil companies were outmoded. Government's have blundered on this big time and tried to move away too soon, all for a few likes on social media accounts.
