Can the subsidiary go bust for example with no liability to the parent company?
Could cine sell the subsidiary for example and that company go bust. Apologies if this is a daft question. Feels unlikely to me as it would become a corporate wild West, but here's hoping!

For goodness sake, people need to get a grip. Omicron is highly infectious and mild. So there will be a lot of people in every country who get infected. This is the point where we need to take a sense check - its ok, completely ok - mild and in effect a vaccine.
There will be a lot of people in hospital with the disease - but very few actually ill with it. If you swab everyone every winter for viruses - you will get the same result!
Omicron is now at the level of danger as flu - not to be dismissed - but to be lived with with vaccines. In time Omicron may mutate again, hopefully to an even milder version and become a 'common cold'.
So, good news is this is the beginning of the end. ATB

The court case and Omicron dealt a huge blow. Hopefully the worst is over. No lockdowns in the US and most of the UK should provide a bit of confidence. Once the appeal process gets underway sentiment should improve also. 2022 will Hopefully be the year cine gets back on its feet. I'm underwear as I expect are most holders. Fingers crossed for us.

Olps - it is surely the case that Covid -19 epidemiologists need this issue to continue to receive large sums of grant money. To say this is not a factor would be disingenuous.

Remember also people, when cases in the community are high, many people will be admitted with rather than due to covid. Hospital numbers can be very misleading.
So far signs are variant O is definitely not more deadly and possibly milder than previous. If this plays out and it is more transmissible, it will turn out to be excellent news.

Olpps, you seem a knowledgable poster with a science background so I am not trying to pick a fight here but have to point out comparing a coronavirus to malaria, small pox and HIV is very misleading. I agree mutations do not automatically mean less virulent - delta proved otherwise of course. However, the history of other coronaviruses do show they do not follow the trajectory of small pox or HIV. Malaria is not a virus so we should leave that be. ATB.

The SNP government made the project too risky. Why get embroiled in politics. Scottish jobs are not Shells concern. Should be the SNPs concern but they have decided to kick oil and gas so it's now up to the Scottish electorate to decide. Atb. Good decision in my view from shell.
