This is a very one sided narrative. Lots and lots of detail is simply glossed over for a headline and click bait chasing article.
I've cut losses before and averaged down before many times, both with mixed results. Its way too complex to distil into the simple solution suggested by the article you have so much faith in. I was buying BP at 190p and shell at 900p when as per your logic I should have 'cut my losses'. I don't think so and thank goodness I've got a brain and can decide for myself. It's way more complex than you seem to think. If you are an investor and think BOO is likely to go bankrupt, selling may be right, if not average down. If you are a trader, sell and try buying lower if you are any good at trading. Risky business is trading. Anyway, each to their own. Let's not get preachy. Atb

It's clearly complex and many many factors involved, not least share buybacks. There is risk of a reversal, but this rise was expected and not entirely surprising. What I'm surprised about is the level of negative sentiment on this chat board. Atb

HNS - yes, does seem like the judge simply went with lets protect the home company. There will be appeals and more options - including I suppose seeing if they can let the subsidiary go bust - and then if Cine is sued, an international dispute mechanism will be needed.
Or they will be a deal with CP - for a significantly lower settlement - most likely IMO. Lots of supposed non holders - telling us how much in debt CINE is in. So grateful as us holders clearly are an illiterate bunch!

Gary, exactly right. In the 14 or so months I've held BP, I've received 10% of my investment back in dividend payments. That plus nearly 60% increase in my capital. Not shabby by any investment standards given the lowish investment risk.
I'm going nowhere and weekly fluctuations in SP is of little concern as I ain't selling.
