Ever since we hit 400, its been a rollercoaster!
Putin will not invade Ukraine - was never the goal. Regimen change is the goal with a bit of 'unaccounted' militia (definitely definitely not in any way connected to Russia of course) causing instability within Ukraine so there is a low blood letting type coup.
Putin's mob are they for show and a distraction. Possibly even an insurance policy to get the 'militia not connected to Russia' out of there in case it all goes a bit wrong.
Why invade Ukraine and be hit by sanctions when you can stand at the edge, smirking at the idiotic western Govts, whilst effecting regimen change without shedding much blood.

Have to say, these prices are a gift for a company making a healthy profit. I am content to keep accumulating. I have only recently bought in but in a week have doubled my holding. Shorters are my pals. Give me opportunity to buy at prices that I should not really have the right to.

Windows, agree. Especially when interest rates are rising, it makes sense to pay down debt. At very low interest rates as was in the last decade, borrowing to expand was sensible, but the wheel is about to turn. Also agree, keeps headlines more favourable. ATB

They are desperate to keep OP down. Understandable and what we would expect from a responsible government. However they seem to be forgetting this is a problem of their own making in lurching towards Gretta worship way too quickly and effectively cutting oil exploration and drilling abruptly. A supply crunch is a supply crunch. They will not be able to control the price forever and have lost the narrative here.
I'm expecting a few months of op bouncing in the 75 to 85 range and then the brakes will be off. Traders will enjoy this and long term investors just need to ride it out.

I am surprised how many seem eager to cash in their chips at 400.
I've invested for long term. Nice if not spectacular dividend and steady capital growth with little risk. What's not to like?
Oil price at 75 to 80 is my preferred range. Plenty of profit and below the radar. But it seems a steady march upwards is going to happen due supply squeeze caused by disinvestment in exploration. I was going to trim at 450 but think I'm going to leave everything as is for now and reassess at 550. Aimo and this is not intended as advice. Atb

I imagine even Maris will be having difficulty spinning this as bad news, but one can never tell with the greedy types.

I think it's safe to say 400 will be swallowed up tomorrow.

Will breach 400 today IMO. The question is how much further will the momentum go. As long as buybacks are on, it should keep gains.
