What has happened in the last 12 months - to justify share price? Aside from the elephant in the room which is the pandemic, what has changed? We will not be switching from oil to renewables anytime soon. Once the pandemic is over, and we are well and truly on our way, why would SP not go back to pre-pandemic levels. Even more so as shale producers have to a large degree been taken out. Add to this disinvestment from oil exploration by the oil majors - there will be a supply crunch before there is a shift to renewables. This crunch could last a long time and in this time, oil price could possibly be double where we are today, let alone a few months ago. Then where will SP be? Tuck these away in an ISA and wait IMO is the strategy that will pay off. Well this is my view only and I am not a professional investor, just a PI, so please DYOR etc.
