A lot has changed during the pandemic including the number of people trading. Democratizing trading is absolutely a good thing but short term'ism is rife. Patience seems to be in short supply but it is the best way to make good profits in the stock market. BP at around 300 is a great long term investment. Buy and hold in my view is the best option. For all those getting itchy feet, please remember oil price is still over 60. BP will be making plenty profit. ATB

Shorters give PI's the opportunity to pick up cheap shares. Those who can be patient will be rewarded. Ignore the noise, DYR and buy if you feel it is right for you. I'm happy to steadily accumulate at these levels. Who knows where the bottom is, but I will just drip feed in along the way.
Shorting is nasty business but a PI can take advantage too.

Lots of oil production capacity has been removed. Shale, scaling back of exploration by majors etc. Once the EU get their act together, and from April new vaccines coming on stream will help massively, this unseemly vaccine fight will be in the past.
So IMO, the future is brighter than it appears. Sage and co love a fear story as it gets them attention. The govt should sort them out by getting rid. Having sage hasn't really done us a fat lot of good anyway. ATB with whatever you decide, but I'm holding for sure. 450 will arrive in the next 6 months IMO.

Is still above 60. Where was it pre pandemic? Then ask yourself why SP should fall? Scaremongering posters do need to take a break. IMO

TFE, and Greece and Turkey. Can't see Croatia, Madeira and other similar areas not want our custom, especially when European mainland tourists will be limited.
Cruising could go from much maligned to the safest option to holiday in the context of the pandemic. Would be some turnaround but this seems to be a fair shout don't you think?

I fully expected Disney or another studio would make a bid for Regal if not all of cine. May still happen but they will need to pay a much bigger premium now.

Lovely rise and glad it's been a steady one rather than a spike. Looking forward to onward movement with 200 plus being the first point I may consider slicing a bit. Even then it will be only maybe. UK and US are on top of this so our main markets are on course for reopening of cinemas by June without restrictions. It's game on and a great place to be. ATB

I don't really see why cruising cannot go ahead. All get on at a UK port, vaccination done and negative test done. Crew also tested and 14 day quarantine done.
Then sail to the med, enjoy warm climate etc. Clients can only disembark at cordoned off beaches etc which are covid secure or maybe even not at all. Port calls will only be for refuelling, restocking of food and wine etc. Low risk and I bet plenty will take this if it's the only realistic option for a holiday. So whilst the muttering from sage etc will dampen the mood for airlines, I am pretty confident saga management will be considering all options. Fingers crossed for some positive announcements. ATB

Exactly Paddy. This story has been played out so many times, it's getting tired. When BP and Shell were 200 and 900, deramping posters were talking them down in force. For me, buying was a no brainer at those prices. I haven't sold a single share there and am happy to collect 8% divi and expect this will rise over the next few years.
PFC is not different. Happy to accumulate and wait. In 2 years I will be very pleased I did not fret about a 10 p buy in price difference. ATB

Smithy, agree. Unduly pessimistic. The reduced shale and cut back in exploration will have a bigger impact. IMO

Poker - all the deramping brigade are out in force. 1 agenda only and that is to spread panic. Pretty obvious what is going on. This pattern has been repeated on so many companies now that it is a joke.

BAE systems had a similar bribery charge about business in Saudi and other examples exist. All this chatter about the business being blanked etc is simply trying to put fear and doubt into holders. Stay calm and watch this hysteria blow over.

Agree. Lots of panic will stirred up by posters looking to get in cheaper. I will just buy more if it dips and wait. Did the same across a range of shares and my portfolio is doing pretty well with the strategy. Just gives me more chances to load up. This also allows shorts to close cheap, which is a tad annoying.

Agree its a set back and confirms need to close this messy case but this will blow over. If it drops, no problem, just buy more and tuck away.
