Agree it is frustrating but while POO is ok currently, volume being sold is way lower than usual so profit will not be as big. However, structural changes, trimming of the fat etc done in the last 12 months will mean a huge rebound when things do pick up. this is really only going to happen when Europe gets its act together and countries like India manage to control the pandemic and I suspect this will be in Q3-4 2021. So patience is needed but if you can hold, as I absolutely intend to, 550 SP by Q2 2022 is likely IMO. Meanwhile the dividend is still better than you will get in most companies or from interest in any bank or cash ISA.
These prices are a once in a decade opportunity. Don't lose out due to impatience is my advice and opinion. ATB

Slift, also large number of PI's spooked into selling due to delayed results or just happy with 10-30% profit and moving on. i agree, shorts have had this easy. However, the fact that the refinancing has been waved through without punitive rates is a strong signal that fundamentals are ok. Once the SFO issue is cleared up, this should rerate more robustly.
I am hoping the new CEO will strike a deal with the SFO. Makes little sense not to. Revenue being lost by this case not being completed will be far more than the fine (paid over many years). The SFO will also wan tithe stone with as the loner this goes on with no charges against PFC, the more the SFO looks like it is not able to conclude investigations and so not fit for purpose. It is in the interest of both sides to conclude and move on. ATB.

The shorters need to buy back over 5% still so will be grateful for nervous PIs selling now.
There is a new CEO who started only a few months ago. There will have been a lot to tidy up and the pandemic will have made this much much more difficult due to travel restrictions etc, given PFC has worldwide operations.
I think a delay is entirely understandable. Better to be right than rushed.

Gold, I agree. I don't see a pullback sufficient to warrant sell and buy back approach. 140 finish for the week will do just fine. Don't want to get too carried away.
No point also holding through the lows and selling too early. I bought a bunch below 100 to allow me to average down, so thank you Mr Shorters. Not selling my winning hand anytime soon. Amazing that people will cash in at 10 or 15% profit when patience will bring in double profits at least. Anyway, each to their own strategy.

Welcome boost the recent OP rise. My major holding is split between BP and Shell as my strategy is what it is and whilst spectacular rises are not to be expected, I am happy i am in safe zone. Today has been a welcome boost for OP and what i had been banking on......once the current navel grazing is done, the reality that the world and the population growth is such, that oil will for the foreseeable remain the main source of energy and oil will remain a critical energy source. So this translates to companies like PFC remain critical to the maintenance and running of the oil business. We are and will be a critical part of the immediate future. I don't really care what the share price of PFC is in a week. In 2-3 years, i have a feeling, I will be kicking myself I did not buy more. ATB.

Could never really understand why buy really low, when potentially the risk of going even lower, and then sell for 10 to 20% profit. That level of risk should demand a better reward. IMO. I'm staying put for a long time yet. My investment time period is a few years and am hoping to be multiple of here. ATB

Bonkers, you are probably correct. I wasn't thinking of a buyout. Agree Mooky will block this. I was thinking more about a merger with a Chinese cinema chain, brokered by Jangho, with a loaded gun in hand.

Jangho has a serious stake in cine. China has a huge cinema audience and appetite for Hollywood films. Opportunistic buy into a massive business at knockdown prices maybe, but I wonder if this is the beginning of some sort of M and A to include expansion into the Chinese market.
Feels to me there is a bigger strategic move about rather than just a cunning investment plan.
All IMO and speculation but I just don't see why Jangho would take such a big stake (and growing) in an industry they don't have previous form in. ATB
