Ditto. I have roughly 45/55 in BP/Shell to hedge. Shell doing better so far but mostly as i bought BP a bit early initially so my ave price is higher compared to my shell holding. I'm pretty sure both will be absolutely fine though. These are ling term holds for me. Like most, I wish I'd loaded up more, but hindsight is a magical tool. ATB

I wouldn't rule out a special dividend. Especially if Shell announce one. Would be a huge plus and Looney needs II's on board.

Denby, agree - they really should have some time limit on this sort of investigation. The reputation of the company and orders lost will be causing damage whilst SFO keep this open indefinitely. Frustrating but i assume if this was an option, it will have been considered.

Is very odd. I do not have a legal background but there is more than a slight chance the case based on a confession has been derailed or there is some doubt which needs to be verified. So whilst the delay does drag out this saga, it may also clear PFC entirely. This is entirely speculation, but if it were cut and dry, why the delay?

65 to 70 range is the sweetspot being mentioned where traditional oilers make decent profits whilst remaining mostly un-economical for shale production. I'd expect we will stick around here until air travel resumes in earnest. This will do fine anyway for BP as it's over the forecasted oil price for BP. A few stable weeks ahead untill results when the next leg up begins. IMO

Agree Paddy. Shorters rely on PI's having little or no patience and will sell on a small profit if the PI has been sat on a small loss for some time. So shorter know they can easily buy back to cover their shorts. This will re rate in time and we just need to wait. I'm in for a good while and am expecting this to multi bag so have specifically prioritised this in my ISA envelope. All IMO of course, but this is what I have done and am pretty chilled about the SP. Short term movement is of no real consequence even if I do check multiple times daily. Hard not to!

Happy, agree - this is likely to be the major catalyst to breaking the £4 barrier and may well take upto the Q4 results before it firms up over this level. Until then, nothing to do but wait. I still maintain, trading BP is IMO not worth the risk. ATB

The market's waiting for US to set the direction. London stock exchange is becoming a sub division of Wall street. Definitely not great to be reliant.

Good to see the 70 dollar barrier breached. BP should be more like 340 without the oil price increase recently. So undervalued that a re rate will be quick I imagine. The big push to over 400 will be divided rise etc which should follow given the increased earnings. For those who are patient, big rewards await. IMO

Mary, the press are being vile about Megan. There is a nasty smear campaign being played out. Anyway, this is a BP chat, so let's stick to stocks. U.S. stocks finished Friday on a high after dipping midday and pulling down UK indices. Expect a nice rebound on Monday morning. Nothing to change the sentiment over the weekend. EU remains the worrying angle. So caught up in UK bashing, they took their eye off the prise and are now appearing like clowns. Problem is it's not funny and people will suffer. Also remains a drag on economic recovery as it is still our main trading partner. Hope they sort themselves out pronto.
