Sotolo - just been reading the Daily Torygraph guide to making money in the SM - some interesting points (depending on time scale chosen) VERY long term - 20 years or so - you are better off buying and holding and ignoring ups and downs on the FTSE. Sell in May and Go Away - is correct on 75% of occasions. BUY at end of month and sell 7 to 10 days later ! It all depends on the start point IMO- ie if you bought low initially all these work - but if you bought at the height of the boom period none of them work ! I did buy a whole bunch more of HOC last week at 232p so will watch the SP rocket over the next week before selling - LOL If that works I will fall off my perch in delight ! Strange world we live in - Diane Abbot thinks policemen are paid £3000 A YEAR !!! But the true cost of 10000 extra police is NOT £300 million - that is only salaries - add on all the consumables like uniforms etc and £500 million would be closer to the mark IMO
Crazy Corbyn thought "filthy undeserving rich" people's income starts at £70K - until he was told that basic MPs get £74K !!! and he gets £137K However the Tories think that "fat cat old age pensioners on £7K do not deserve 2.5% annual increases (£175 per year) and if they have another income the £7K is effectively taxed if total income is more than £11500 (this year tax free) And in the EU the little poison dwarf Junker (who is being investigated by police for fraud and corruption from when he was head honcho in Luxembourg) tells us that English is a "fading language" If he checked his facts before making stupid statements he would see that English is spoken by 1.5 BILLION people world wide as a daily language and by a further 2 billion as a "Lingua Franca" - 1200 million Indians use English daily because they cannot understand all the hundreds of thousands of local languages and dialects used in India. English is also the international language of airlines, trade, finance and politics. Junker gave his speech in French which was understood by just 10% of his audience ! Most used world languages are Mandarin then Spanish then English - French comes very low down the scale. The DT also tells us today that EU top lawyers have always said that the EU Commissioners cannot demand just the liability payments from the UK (presently E100 billion) but must deduct UK EU assets and holdings (presently E 180 billion) from the final bill and it is illegal (under EU law) to demand any further farming or fishing or trade subsidies after March 2019 ! Junker and Merkel and Hollande have totally rejected their own top lawyers advice
