As you already know AimMaster2018, I'm just a working class PI. So yes, I do not have fortunes sloshing around to throw away on poor quality stocks like CPI. However, since I commenced investing in Dec 2022 I've done rather well, having booked healthy profits from having invested into CURY/JDW/BT/TUI, and a few others.

By late summer 2024 I had sold everything up, and since early Nov I've been buying fair sized tranches in VOD and a couple of others with that cash pile. I still have about 60% of the cash pile left to carry on with my steady rounds of buying and I've an average here on VOD of 67p.

For me this is playing out as I had planned back in early Nov 24, and I'm sticking to my plan as I think I've made a good call here with my choice to invest in VOD 👌😎

I've cash at the ready for buying should this dip to 69p I'll be seeing that as a cracking buying opportunity. Bit of a pre-Spring Statement shake down going on for stocks today IMO

Trisor - by all means scoff and chunter away... Let me remind you it was me who correctly analysed CPI's financials to forecast the ~£2.4bn FY 2024 Revenue figure, and I also said the SP was v.likely to fall on the announcement of those results (which it indeed did). I also proposed AH might reach for the lever of further company asset sell offs, as CPI continues its FCF woes.

Look throw insults my way by all means but it's all you have because consistently I've been pretty accurate in my forecasts on CPI... And now to top it off the CPI board is planning to undertake a 15-1 consolidation!

Hey at least soon you'll see the holy grail £1+ a share eh?! LOL

Fleccy - interesting words. However, there's many rural homes & businesses which are currently signed up to pricier solutions. If VOD can win over those customers without having to install expensive infrastructure then it's a way of 'stealing lunch from rival competitors'.

I think it's worth me saying btw that if CPI is indeed being prepped for sale then I don't rule out the possibility at some point in time the SP could possibly gather some upwards momentum... and that's because CPI being sold off to a buyer could be seen by the markets as being a net positive step forwards, perhaps?!

Guardian Business Live Page reporting today (see 12.24 GMT) - VOD specifically mentioned:

"UK clearing the way for satellite calls on standard smartphones

The UK is on track to be the first country in Europe to allow people to use their smartphone to make calls using signals direct from satellites.

Ofcom, the communications regulator, said that satellite technology has reached a point that signals can be reliably beamed from space to allow access to phone and web services when there is no coverage from mobile phone masts.

“For years, we’ve seen satellite calls in disaster movies on special handsets,” said David Willis, spectrum group director at Ofcom. “We’re now on the cusp of people being able to make them on their everyday smartphones”.

The regulator said that amending the licences held by mobile phone operators to authorise so-called “direct-to-device” satellite technology could mean that even the most rural and isolated communities could have guaranteed mobile coverage.

In January, Vodafone successfully made the world’s first satellite video call using a standard mobile phone, in a mountainous region of Wales, after Ofcom issued an innovation and trial licence.

Willis says:

“Ofcom strives to be at the forefront of technological change. And we are the first country in Europe to press ahead with the next frontier in mobile connectivity.”

Ofcom has opened a consultation on its proposals and said that it could potentially begin authorising direct-to-device services later this year."

I think CPI is being prepped for sale because AH has a track record for this.

🤣🤣 - is anyone LTH on CPI in profit?

Asking because I am with VOD (I've a 67p average) and am still accumulating more VOD as and when.

The problem though AimMaster2018 is CPI (without the recent Capita One sale) would have still seen falling revenues over this last year and CPI sill has to spend more money in this next financial year to undertake further cost cutting... they're doing this with sales still on a net downward trendline so even with winning the odd big long term contract here and there I'm afraid it remains the case that forward prospects for CPI continue to look very poor indeed.

Then there's all the money CPI needs to replace ageing IT kit as by all accounts employees have repeatedly complained on here they don't have good enough kit to work with to do their jobs well.

Fortunately, for the teachers: "Capita has managed the TPS for 27 years, but in October 2025 the contract will transfer to Tata Consultancy."

An apology is owed to you AdamWoodman... For I have just spotted where you've got that 31pence from and it makes literally no sense at all - Can anyone shed any light on that?

The current SP is the price it trades for which changes daily on the stock market (currently 13.9p). Then there's the 15 to 1 consolidation. i.e. if consolidation happened tonight then 15x£0.139p which equates to £2.0850p

Not a scooby doo clue where you're getting that 31p number from - Looks as though it's either entirely fabricated? Or is speculative of where you think the SP should be currently? (which of course it is not, as it is currently 13.9p).
