Avocet123 - In a market which is now dysfunctional there unfortunately is nowhere that anyone can hide.
There's downsides to holding cash (falling rates for currencies outside of USA).
There's downsides to holding stocks (some may become insolvent).
Downsides too for holding bonds/gilts (vulnerable to inflation from rate cuts and central bank QE).
Downsides holding commodities (they devalue from the wave of deflation and only go up slowly after the rate cuts)
Having a balanced portfolio is key IMO, and going into this I've sought to do precisely that: I've 45% £ cash, 5% USD$ cash, 50% in several investments approx.
People will still need telecoms, even once the dust settles, and I shall net the divi income periodically from that.
All IMO - DYOR
