Pokerchips - I don't agree Trump is senile. Let's be clear I liked Biden policy but he was getting senile with many senior moments, thereby making him unfit to run and he should have backed out far earlier in the US election process (or never even stood tbh).

Trump is not senile - he's simply a classic Narcissist, and contrary to belief his behaviours are entirely predictable if one understands the traits of a narcissist that is.

Expect a long drawn out period with much damage - not to mention a little more than half of the USA voting population currently agrees with him too, so only when it hurts them will they then begin to feel very foolish indeed, and that process takes time.

Yes, those heavily into property will suffer pain... but the economy doesn't have to be so heavily tilted in favour of property prices and I do not think it will be in the future.

Avocet123 - Not quite correct there... I think VOD will be put under stress but I don't think it will substantially fall. EZJ however, I think will be put under significant pressure due to it's reliance on high volume + low margin in times of buoyant leisure travel sector thriving. When economy suffers it's always leisure which spend which is first cut and not essential telecoms. IMO - DYOR

Pokerchips - USA is currently the world's biggest oil producer, so should have no need to import oil from Saudi Arabia.

Stupmy - Trump Tarfiffs won't help USA on the US debt front... because the tariffs will ensure interest rates need to be held high (and possibly lifted higher). So it'll make servicing the massive national debt pile punishingly expensive for US citizens. Additionally, the US economy will shrink as a result, further exacerbating the debt situation.

Primetime51 - the oil drops will 'fuel' customer price expectations (downwards) and there's the issue of potential for spike with EU unemployment... i.e. fewer passenger volumes. The budget carriers are most impacted by volume drops as they're much more reliant on high volumes + low margins.

avocet123 - I'm not worried by VOD dropping lower, as said previously I'm accumulating.

Pokerchips - Why would those perceived 'weaker' economies bother to negotiate in desperation when in fact they now know that it is Trump who is in the weak position having severely damaged USA economy... Surely the far better thing to do is dig in, and cause Trump absolute maximum damage? i.e. Make USA beg for a deal and for the pain to stop - Completely flip the power play dynamics onto their head.

AimMaster2018 - why on earth would we want to pay 4.5% interest on a massively overpriced property all because of this stupid obsession with 'getting on the ladder'. Property is well overcooked and older folks have been living it large and grifting on the backs of working people's graft for far too long.

Fingers crossed property is about to tank upto 30% in real terms over the coming decade ahead. I'm not saying it'll do so overnight in one single price adjustment but... there should now be taking place a substantial drop in stages over which property becomes significantly more in alignment with the earnings of typical working people... because the prices being so out of alignment have been causing huge social friction and social problems. Recessions can be very helpful with delivering such seismic changes 👍

Avocet123 - houses are at 30yr price highs, it's causing massive social problems. They've been overcooked for a very long time and... It's about time over entitled boomers like daltry, peddling their pro Farage + Trump economic & empire nonsense, from their ivory towers, experienced a harsh reality check. Why would we buy at 30yr highs when we can watch on as it all crashes back to sensible prices? 🤷
