Pokerchips - countries can send their top teams to try to negotiate with Trump but... don't expect any deal to be signed which is in favour of one of those counties... it's a case of:

'sign a deal in favour of USA or there is no deal at all'... so far as Trump is concerned.

Which presents a monumental problem, it's why Ukraine has not signed minerals deal... because it's a totally awful deal for Ukraine and so why would it ever sign it?!

This is why what Trump is currently doing will prove to be absolutely devastating for global economy and is why it will take far longer to resolve than anyone may imagine it should take.

Could very be headed sub 10p rather soon here. I continue having doubts about CPI's ability to survive the sheer scale of this global economic storm which is being caused by The Donald Trumper (aka daltry's man).

CPI consolidation is set to go ahead late April which may help CPI to limp on some more, perhaps?

Following the USA tariffs Debts will become much easier to service for companies based in non-USA countries. That's because USA will have to keep interest rates high (to try to limit the inflation caused for US consumers by the tariffs) whereas all other countries impacted by the tariffs can reduce their interest rates to stimulate demand and help limit the deflationary impacts caused by fewer goods being sold to USA (i.e. they support their domestic consumer economy as a counterbalance).

Primetime51 - the problem EZJ may face, along with many other carriers is potentially much lower ticket price expectations from customers combined with a sharp drop in customer volumes too. ECB & BoE IMO need to act quickly to trim them central bank rates.

Thumper1127 - good question... I think we're seeing a dead cat bounce today. I think EU has agreed to negotiations more so it can buy time to put countermeasures package and possibly a myriad of other support in place too, which always takes more time for EU as talks with many member states have to take place. I think late trading tomorrow and early trading Thursday it will begin to turn ugly once again.

The underlying prognosis remains dangerous as Trump, GOP and their MAGA following are devout in their misguided belief that tariffs can bring about an age of prosperity for USA. It's not going to be over quickly, plenty more economic damage will be done and that's why I think EZJ will indeed head sub 400p.

EU apparently sending final list and the tariff levels to member states later today.

Voting by member states set for 9th April, with final list being adopted on 15th April. Duties on products kick in on that day for first set of measures, then 15th May for all remaining measures.

I can't see how this will help the situation - More and more tariffs, with more and more counter tariffs deployed. Markets are not going to like this. Trade between USA and rest of the world will almost come to a complete halt.
