EU already coming out with rhetoric on retaliation for the Trump Tariffs - so further falls coming here in the weeks/months ahead IMO, this is far from over yet!

I haven't booked a holiday this year yet - as I'd already anticipated hefty ticket price reductions likely lie ahead, if the prices don't come down then I'll not buy until they do so. Unemployment likely to shoot upwards, rates downwards and demand significantly down as people inevitably make big cutbacks over the months ahead. Property prices struggled even before the end of the Stamp Duty Tax break here for UK, that's a really big sign of weakness and I anticipate a BoE rate cut in May potentially being 0.5-0.75%, when it lands it still won't be enough to help stimulate demand, more cutting will follow right down towards 3.25% potentially.

Fleccy - 100% agree with you. Hence why I invested here for the long haul.

Fogthemogg - I'm only able to speak from my own view (which I have made 100% crystal clear with each post I've made) - that's because I very deliberately/calculated began investing into VOD in Nov (it was clear to me Trump was going to win and also clear the Tories had left a royal mess for Lab to tidy up too) - Of many stocks out there the prognosis was looking great for VOD from my perspective, low SP, buybacks, consolidation efficiencies through 3 merger, and recent healthy results. It was clear to me it was a great defensive buy, to make profit even through turbulent times ahead.

Primetime51 - I'm not gloating, I simply feel this was an entirely foreseeable. It's clear to me these Trump tariffs will cause EU unemployment to sharply uptick, meaning ECB rates will have to drop furthermore, as a countermeasure and some policy to stimulate domestic demand in the EU (and same goes for other tariffed nations). Unemployed people and those threatened with prospect of unemployment will inevitably cutback on travel and leisure spend. So I think there's more selling which lies ahead for EZJ stock.

As I shared on here previously, for me it was always inevitable VOD would prove to be a sound defensive investment stock. Pleased with how the SP is holding up today and I anticipate this will continue to be the case. As the 3 merger gets going, the satellite calling technology gets deployed and as central banks lower rates (to compensate for the Trump Tariff Trade War) O think VOD will be broadly unimpacted and will see growth enduring.

The inflation shock to USA citizens will be monstrous. Wonder how the US Federal Reserve might react... they could do nothing (and view the tariffs as a one off shock).

One thing is guaranteed, global growth will slow from the US consumers cutting back.

Will other nations now move to support the rest of the global economy (excluding USA) with picking up the slack? 🤷 - those nations outside of USA could well see deflationary effects precipitating... possibly triggering some rate cuts by their central banks.

Where does this leave EZJ? Well... unemployment might tick upwards for EU, and deflation might pull prices downwards simultaneously (unless there are rate cuts to support demand)...

It's going to get turbulent!

I should also add... post consolidation a drop of the SP appears likely, and possibly it may then attract a takeover bid being made? 🤷 - A very real possibility IMO, with Serco, again IMO being the most likely to be interested in adopting CPI into their outfit.

AH has track history with preparing companies for takeovers, and I think that's ultimately why he was brought in here as CEO of CPI.

As I'd previously said on here my view is CPI will rise to ~15.5p ahead of upcoming consolidation - DYOR, All IMO.

The turbulence is what makes the timing tricky, hence the swings from 'Weak Buy' to 'Strong Sell' and back again.

Checking back over the many past RNS's to examine in more details the numbers on TVR's, shares held in Treasury and total issued share capital figs... clearly shows the buybacks are working out rather nicely. Enjoy buying at these low SP prices while you still can do so!
