Very odd. Who would be bothered enough to insist that phrase be edited out?
The trouble is that yet again our BOD have dangled a carrot whilst not giving any clear indication or real details as to what's on the cards. That's why the wider market repeatedly refuses to jump on board here. We're bogged down now in yet another cycle of speculation which is frankly tedious in the extreme. I'm adding to it I realise.
As for 'significant', again we just haven't got a clue. No one knows what's being sold, to whom or when. Investors don't like cloak and dagger stuff and we've been living it with EUA for at least two years now! Anyone on the outside of EUA could justifiably suggest a significant divi would be 100% of current sp. Even 200%. But more than that I think is tempting fate. We've been steered towards expecting less more than once : the speeding ticket that wasn't and now this subtle removal of one phrase.
Having dared to believe in the dreamy and lofty figures of £1.50 per share, I am once more making my way back down to earth and expecting something more in the region of 50 - 60p as a special divi. No one could argue that isn't significant compared to our current sp. If we'd just lifted by a few pence for each RNS over the last few months I'd say yes, we could end up with £1+ but we haven't. We've gone nowhere.
Asset sale of about £2bn and we are given a chunk of what's left after tax and USB/Piper fees. There you are, more guess work. This isn't going to be the Hoochy ending we'd all hoped for imho, but it will still be good and well worth while investors jumping on board for the last few waves of this epic voyage. Blimey, if I knew I could jump in now at 26p and double it by, say September, that would still be an amazing result.
