Dan, many mixed feelings are to be expected from this share, let's face it anyone who bought in here from 2018 and watching the share price drop from down from £2 to sixty something pence will be very disappointed with their loss making investment, but for those who have bought in for around 60 something pence will be very pleased having collected dividends and also seeing a rise in their capital, i don't know if you noticed but just about everyone was happy here this week seeing this move closer to 80p, it gave us all a good reason to be more positive about this share, that's something that's been lacking here for sometime, let's hope it can continue

Can't expect it to go up everyday it doesn't work like that, us job figures out today so the markets are down, would be great if we could break past the 80p some next week though

Garonne, 80p is within touching distance , i expect we will likely get a bit of a drop back tomorrow but hopefully we will get there next week, then it will start to get interesting, fingers crossed that it will keep rising, strangely it's come at a time when my other investments are dropping

Dan, I don't care what anyone calls it mate, if it's going up then i'm happy, i'm just hoping it can get back to my last 86p top up for now, the remainder can wait for another day

One think you have made me aware of though is i'm currently over exposed in Insurance/pension shares as i'm currently invested in Lgen/Aviva/phnx and mng which is probably unwise, so at least one needs to go, the big question is which ones

obviously lgen is currently the one with the most disappointing share price, but a lot can change between now and next April. any thoughts guys

If only we had someone like Amanda Blanc from Aviva, the share price has just got stronger and stronger since she took over, Although we don't know if Margherita is doing a bad job, going on the share price alone we certainly don't have many reasons to think she is doing a good job either, that's all i'm saying

Garonne, It definitely helps if you have a bit of good luck on your side when buying shares, I don't think anyone knows where the bottom price is on any shares or if and when they will change direction, so let's hope we get a bit of luck with this one going forward

Hi Dan, well this was a lucky day for Vodafone as most of my other shares were in the red today, why do they have to keep dropping down? why can't they just keep going up every day, it's really annoying, only joking of course

The challenge is to get a better return than you can get in a bank account and as long as that's being achieved then it's worth it, if not then time to go back to the drawing board, thankfully it's been quite a good year for myself so far, makes a change, so i guess i'm feeling luck, a lot of that is down to my largest holding Lloyds going from being in loss for several years to doing very well, let's hope Vodafone will be able to do the same, a lot more patience needed though i think, but hopefully we will get there, i have to admit though it's been one of the more challenging ones

Cardinal3, yes of course, I think you know what i was getting at though? and bye the way i'm not against anyone on benefits for genuine reasons either, but as i said it's the guys in the middle are the one's who lose out, and quite often have worked hard all their lives

Dan.that's all very well, just one thing to keep in mind though, be careful that too much positive thinking doesn't blind your vision or it could bite you on the bum again, remember we were positive thinking on both years that this dropped back to a £1 then rose up to £1.40 and due to positive thinking we thought it would go a lot higher, how wrong were we? I don't want to be holding this for ever, it's a matter of trying to find the right time to pull out, not an easy task at all. so hopefully it's got more to give in the not too distant future before the dividend is reduced

Good evening all, just checked in here and thought i had gone into the Lloyds chat room by mistake seems to be full of armchair politicians at the moment, fwiw, the rich will always find ways to avoid paying tax and the the work shy will probably do ok being able to claim pension credits and other benefits, but it's the ones in the middle are always the ones that lose out

Lgen sp is is still underwhelming unfortunately i do hope it can improve before the approach to Aprils exdiv otherwise it may be time to start reducing, fingers crossed that it can come back good again

Garonne, I think Daniel has just answered that for me, but here are my thoughts, this is a very highly competitive business with high overheads, and i'm not convinced it will ever be a great investment, however it's current share price is very low and i do think there is at least a chance of this going into the 80s poss 90s, but i really don't know as Daniel says you may win or you may lose, my personal number one rule is never invest more than you can afford to lose on any one share, i hope you haven't done so? how are your other shares doing in comparison

Garonne, I don't think you are allowed to say that on here?, Interim results next, i believe around the 14th November, It all depends on whether you think they will be good and push up the sp or not

Newbie642, absolutely the rampers have their own agendas, but i suspect you are not a newbie at all, and as you know the rampers have been getting it wrong for many years, just form your own opinions and do what you feel is right for yourself

Dan, I can picture you as a captain on a sinking ship, saying i trust the designers and craftsmen that built this ship and i'm staying on board, your right in one sense though, trust this ship can go on to a better place or jump, i have to admit it's not an easy decision sometimes, let's hope they don't let us down then
