Good evening sidi, i did add a bit more here at 196 but would be happy to add more should it drop back to 180 but will be just as happy if it keeps rising, just holding money in cash at the moment after selling off some lgen and lloyds shares, not in any hurry to buy, if last summer is anything to go buy then there may be some bargains to be had, but everything's so unpredictable at the moment, should interest rates drop things may change, i made a rule not to add to any shares unless below my current average, but i quite often end up doing stupid things and end up regretting if afterwards
best of luck my friend hope all goes well
and fingers crossed for all holders that this will get to 240 before next exdiv
Dan, Vod V BT they are both very sick shares and it all depends on what price you bought them at, i hope they can recover from their long term illness, and hope the top line will become a lot higher than the bottom line
bol
I should have listened to sidi, he sold at 2.40, he's probably drinking champagne in the Caribbean now
maybe selling all shares before they go exdiv is the best way to go, never mind i have a tent and an umbrella to fall back on
gla
Gary, I get your point but?, the share price has dropped more than the dividend so currently you haven't made a penny, unless the sp returns to the high it was before exdiv, and theirs no guarantee that will happen, this was over £3 a few years ago
aviva/mng/lgen have all dropped more than the dividend, and as far as i'm aware haven't finished dropping, the other option would have been to sell them off before exdiv and buy them back for less
I think most people agree this is a good investment, but it;s not a great one unless the sp increases a little each year with inflation, for a lot of years i have just held on here and taken the dividends, but then kept watching the sp drop a lot more than the dividend, so this year i sold a third off before xdiv, it all depends now how low this will drop in the coming weeks whether it was all worthwhile or not, the whole point of it is to try and lower my average, i may end up regretting it, time will tell
whatever happens i hope we have a better year with a higher sp by next APRIL
LTI :RE Dave
This share is the worse stock on the UK Market. What a dog''
etc etc
To be fair to Dave though it has been, i don't think theirs many here who can deny that, but of course we are all hoping the coming years will be better
Nicknaim, as long as you made a profit that's all matters, will just see what happens here, if i can lower my average as intended i will buy my third back
be careful though with so called recovery shares, as they don't always come back as well as you hope, which i found out the hard way with VODAFONE
I wouldn't have anything to do with any company that has an Indian call centre, had too much hassle from them with talk talk years ago, not sure what it has to do with the share price though,? i don't give a dam who they deal with as long as the share price goes up, shame on you DanIel for not supporting the company you invest in, only joking of course mate
Nicknaim, i sold my phnx shares for around £7.50 and it's been in decline ever since, what makes you think it can recover ? to be honest i would rather trust lgen with my hard earned cash, providing you wait for the right price to get back in, just my opinion of course
best of luck
I agree that this is a good investment, but I stick with my previous thought, I still think we will see 2.20 here in a few weeks time , before it will start to rise again, just going on what's happening to mng and aviva since going exdiv
Phyl, there's a good chance that this will drop a lot lower over the next few weeks, as it sometimes does, that is why I made the comment, why top up today
I usually hold like yourself, but had my reasons this time as I explained
Best of luck mate
Sidi, that's an interesting theory, I sold off a third of my lgen shares yesterday and some more Lloyd shares at 52.5 today, will not be rushing to rebuy anything unless @ a bargain price, it's getting more and more difficult to predict what will happen next in this crazy world
have a good evening
