Very quiet here without the Boss man, he's either on holiday or you guys have upset him

A pretty awful week on the stock market guys, everything is getting beaten down, partly down to the uncertainty of the UK budget and US elections, i expect next week will be more of the same, ok though if you have plenty of spare cash and looking for bargains to buy

Mole_man , the best investment decision i ever made, was increasing my portfolio to 50% international tracker funds, they have out performed my UK dividend shares with no hassle, just leave them do all the hard work for you, trading doesn't work for me, so i stick to what i know is working best for myself, but we all have our different ways of doing things

12 November 2024, and we will have a better idea whether the negativity is justified or not, let's hope the interim results are better than expected and it has a positive effect on the share price

jesteh, the problem is i have been hearing about this being undervalued since 2018, any idea when it will be overvalued?

Surprised this is dropping after better than expected inflation figures and interest cuts expected

80p for me please roofer, despite my jokey speech i pulled off google, i think we all want to see this move out of the 70p range now, we are all here hoping to make a profit from the stock market, so let's hope the November results can give this a big nudge in the right direction

Eafster, that's an excellent question to ask here, and i will look forward to everyone's reasons for holding or adding or reasons to sell, whether they are negative or positive

Dividend paid in with HL, another good share paying a good dividend with no loss of capital, will look forward to the bigger one next year, and let's hope we can get back to 2.40 plus again by then, i wish all of my shares were as good, unfortunately i still have a couple of bad apples in my basket

Hi Roofer61, same here mate, dividends now waiting to be reinvested, for me a share that pays a decent dividend with no loss of capital is a great share to be invested in, and i'm also showing a decent profit on my capital here as well

I do hope lgen sp can catch up as well, it used to be very good, now looking forward to next April exdiv

Same here, will be to our benefit until divvy is reinvested, strange how it's down today though, with the good news on inflation dropped to 1.7% most other shares are gaining

Now now Daniel, it's not like you to be sarcastic !! i actually posted that as a bit of humour not moaning, great news for the stock markets today though, inflation dropped to 1.7% with a 0.5 interest rate drop now looking imminent, let's hope we can all gain from it

No need to worry, this government will soon have the Economy growing again, freeze the balls off the pensioners and kill them off, and give slimming injections to the fatty's to get them back to work, then increase taxes on the struggling businesses to give them incentive to increase their profits or go bust, i'm sure they will have a few more tricks up their sleeves for the budget

Well Garonne, i don't think theirs many that would disagree with you regards to this share, i really was hoping this would have been closer to 85p before the November results in which case i would have sold half of my shares here, the reason being is the dividend has now been cut in half and the sp is as you put it uninspiring.

for those who bought in here in the 60's i suppose they are still getting a reasonable dividend and the possibility of some more growth, but it looks like a long journey for anyone waiting to recover losses, just my opinion of course, maybe others here have a completely different opinion on it, i suppose you need to compare against how your other investments are doing, most are just going sideways with myself, up a bit then down a bit, providing things don't go badly in the middle east we might get a 0.5 interest drop, that might help some investments

Good evening roofer, i hope you are enjoying your holiday, i have a similar strategy as yourself by holding and trying to improve on what i call my core holdings made up of 50% international funds and 50% dividend shares and investment trusts, lgen being my largest share holding which has been a reliable dividend payer over the years, however it seems not many people on this board seem to be in agreement with me, but for myself i feel the sp has been disappointing over the last few years and that doesn't deserve a great share rating, but it's early days yet and it's been a difficult time with high inflation and interest rates, so let's hope this share can redeem itself and change direction and hopefully get back close to where it was last April
