Share price is rising nicely now

Phyl, a stocks and shares is is a no brainer for avoiding tax, if I can add to that, for anyone of working age and still paying in to a pension, don't forget the benefits of a sipp, where the taxman pays into the account everytime you do

£1 plus will do me, but did you know the markets decide the price on a daily basis

Hi nervousnelly, I sold my phoenix shares a while ago a bit sorry i did now, but will be looking to buy them back if they drop back down near to £5 again

Hi Phyl, If my average was as low as yours i wouldn't even think about selling, mine is 2.39 so i would think about selling if this hit's 2.55 which i think is unlikely and then wait for 2.20 to buy back, and i expect it will go down that much or even lower in the coming months, but more than likely i will hold for the dividend and add more here should it drop down around the 2.20 again, this is already by far my largest share holding but happy to add more if the price is right

Tambo, that's a difficult one, the sp would need to rise a lot higher for me before xdiv, also thinking a deal with the US and maybe interest rate cuts could be a game changer

Hi Calokey, 83 well done sir, well in that case sell every share that comes into profit, and as long as your in good health book as many nice holidays as you can and enjoy, that's what it's for, we are only young once lol

Calokey, the problem is you could sell this and end up with a load of crap that loses money, lgen/mng/aviva are my best income stocks providing a good income and with no loss of capital providing you buy low, i have plenty of others that are in the red, tailer Wimpey/persimmon /Vodafone/ukw, i don't think you will go far wrong here as long as you buy below £2, but that's only my personal opinion anything can happen, dyor and all that stuff

Md, this is one of the best for dividend income, obviously the yield is a personal thing depending on how much paid, for anyone wanting to reinvest i expect they will be happy for the sp to stay down until payment day on the 9th may

What are your plans here, are you thinking of holding long time for income or hoping to sell for a capital gain

The sp went up to 146 in may last year, i hope it does the same this may so i can offload, unfortunately i made the mistake of buying too high with this one

Good morning Dan, I think you know I'm retired like yourself, nobody likes seeing thousands being wiped off their pensions, but that's something we have accept with the stock market, hopefully a bull run is not too far away, have a good weekend and enjoy the sunshine

Hi mole, my us tech funds are dropping at a faster rate than my UK shares and I expect your US shares are doing the same, it's not the UK that's causing the turbulance in the market's it's the other side of the pond

Yes the results were not bad but not as good as expected, hence the drop on results day, also this share usually drops a lot more than the dividend and takes a while to recover, not to mention all the tariff problems, hopefully it will come back good again soon

Now that i have a much lower average here providing there's no problems and no dividend cuts then this will remain one of my core holdings for income, it's always good to see the sp rising though, it's a better feeling seeing your shares in profit and not in the red

Md, mng/lgen and aviva have been my most reliable shares for quite a few years, if I can get a good dividend income without loss of capital then I'm happy, but not all shares work that way as we all know, I have a couple of dog shares I wish I had never gone near, let's hope the tariff war calms down

MD, no problem at all, Lloyds was the largest share in my portfolio since 2014, i sold them all up recently when they were up in the 70s , i was just asking because i remember you posting there for quite a few years

I'm just trying to make as much profit as i can from the stock market, just like everyone else
