I don't know what average you guys have but mine is 1.21, a bit higher than i would like, but i will reinvest dividends as i feel there's better times to come for house builders, i hope? it won't be the first time for me to get it wrong

Foolsgold, was right about it dropping back again, now i want gogadget to be right about 1.40 plus

Recovering very well, i expect there will be more buying opportunity's throughout the year, the stock market is usually like a rollercoaster in the summer months, but with interest rates expected to drop not sure what will happen this year

I also need to add some more to lgen and hopefully phoenix at some point, but not in any hurry, will wait it until the price is right

Strictly, Thank for taking the time to explain what you meant, i hold those insurers myself along with some other dividend paying shares, i usually hold and accumulate plus add when a good opportunity arises, but occasionally i try to sell and rebuy at both ends of the ranges, but as we all know that doesn't always work out as well as we hope, Aviva i have held for many years and has been one of the best for capital appreciation

Strictly, you get an average of 17% return from your insurer investments, from dealing after charges tax etc. You must be very clever being able to predict the bottom and top price consistently, do you have a crystal ball ?

When investing in the stock market you want to invest where you think you will get the best total returns, but also taking into account the risk factor of losing your capital

if you feel Vodafone meet's those expectations, then best of luck to you, the stock market is full of surprises

Good evening Dan, well i wish i knew it all, but unfortunately i don't, so I'm just trying to get the best return for my investments, everyone should do what they think is right for their own circumstances, I'm retired now so a collection of UK high yielding dividend shares such as lgen/mng/aviva/wimpey/ukw are giving a decent income for topping up my state pension, I've recently been selling down some of my US funds as they've been dropping in value, but everything could change in the coming months and will reinvest where i think i will get the best return, hope i haven't upset moleman or unluckyinvester , i was just taking the mickey

Nelly, as md said on a previous post, i see this as a good retirement income with hopefully not much risk to capital

I sold @ 118.4 and bought for 189 but also bought back an extra 50% to what i was holding before

the plan is to hold long term for topping up my state pension along with a few other good dividend shares, 10% yield is excellent IMO as long as it keeps coming and i don't see any reason why it will change
