I think Some investors are scared off by what happened with Newmont. Thought it was a done deal, but it fell apart. They will sit on the sidelines waiting further confirmation from drill results that Greatland really have made a major discovery.

Larger investors have access to specialist advisors - mining consultants, geologists but they can be slow to move because they often have set mandates and criteria for investment. Some won’t buy AIM listed stocks. But there are plenty of specialist mining investors and funds especially in Australia and Canada where they have large mining industries.

This is exactly what I was getting at the other day. If you look at the share register of GGP it is in the main an army of small investors together with Mr Beetham. Can you imagine what is going to happen to the share price if the likes of Blackrock want a piece of the pie here? They will be looking to buy hundreds of millions of shares.

That’s what Solgold junior explorer stands at currently for a tier 1 copper gold discovery in Ecuador which has quite high sovereign risk, deep, expensive to mine, its a porphyry deposit not iocg. Too early to put a price on GGP or even to say what they are sat on. If it turns out to be a tier 1 asset in Australia (low sovereign risk, mining friendly) if Rio have another major discovery close by (economies of scale - shared infrastructure) it could be worth billions. On the other hand, they may have just been lucky with the drill intercepts - we will see.

It surprises me how few major shareholders there are in GGP and how few institutional investors there are. Will be interesting to see whether there are any holdings rns over the next few weeks.

There have been rumours that Rio have made a major discovery nearby for several months now. Satellite images have shown drilling expanding and Rio have bought up or JV’d every available mining licence. Seems a peculiar coincidence that Greatland appointed a former senior Rio executive in October which makes me think GGP have been approached previously by Rio. If you were sat on a mining permit which Rio wanted it would make sense to do a bit of drilling to see what the interest is!!!

He thinks differently from the rest of us, a maverick, risk taker, visionary. I think he grasped the early results from Havieron when the market didn’t, go back to his posts from June/July. Clearly there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Clive Latcham appointed non exec director in October, rumours of big discovery by Rio... When Solgold first started getting really good drill intercepts in Ecuador, only a few understood the significance, it took time for the market to wake up. Hold on to your golden tickets, this is going to be one hell of a rollercoaster if that world class intercept turns out to be a big hit.

Yup. I think Chad is a really cool American name so will be sure to tune in. But I have a feeling the share price won’t do much until after management have got their 60p options in December!!!! If all the number crunching these brokers have done is to be believed Solgold is currently undervalued. It will be interesting to see the figures in the PEA.

I think the most important words in the rns were “world class”. That will hopefully attract the interest of majors and rerate at which point market will have to put a price on the potential. Market cap is currently low which is good. I expect this will test previous highs and exceed them if the further drill results are good and a major buys in.

Of course the share price can fall back, but it may be that this is game changing. World class drill intersection, and in Australia too. Solgold got world class drill results, that led to Newcrest buying a stake in the company. Market cap now around 700 million. If Ggp do that, its a 10 bagger from here.
