Doesn’t really matter how big the resource, problem is its in the DRC. Numerous obstacles including Ebola, war, famine, unstable regime, risk of mine being confiscated by government, lack of basic infrastructure. Difficult to compare with Cacabel.

Apparently Cornerstone are now saying the spin off will be completed in June so only 3 weeks max. Perhaps that might trigger some corporate activity, Rousseau and management increased their holdings not long ago. It certainly has taken a very long time to complete the spin off. If it gets taken out at a premium, it could light a fire under the share price here. Certainly needs something to get the share price moving again, and presumably the spin off has been timed to coincide with release of the updated mre.

The stock exchange did not open til around 9am today, nothing to do with Solgold, they were having computer problems.

Currently up over 8.5% there but may have more to do with copper prices, now nearing multi year high with further to run as demand is outstripping supply

On Aggy, its too early to say, save that it does not appear to be shallow and high grade. Even if the assays were good, it would take several more drill holes to get confirmation. If you read the book on the Diamond Fields discovery it took them Loads of drilling to work out where the good stuff was, they had to work out the shape of the orebody and i think it was hole no 202!!! That revealed there were several massive orebodies. It was lucky they didn’t sell out early as the orebody turned out to be massive. Patience does pay (sometimes).

Got to be a drilling update on the way, now over six weeks since the last one. Wonder how deep the drills are at Aguinaga and Trivinio now?

Any major who wants to get into Ecuador is going to have to takeover or jv because there arent any more tenements up for auction. We know there is a copper crunch coming, we know the majors are coming too, we know Solgold is sat on some prime assets in one of the richest copper belts in the world.

As there are no new tenements on offer and both Rio and Antofagasta are looking to explore, the only way they can do that in Ecuador is by partnering with or buying a junior explorer. And what do Rio specialise in? Block cave. This is great news for Solgold, really great news. The biggest richest mining titan with experience in copper and block cave wants to come to Ecuador, but all the ground has been taken!!!!

Well if it is a sell there is rock solid support at 25p. I tend to think its something to do with the placing though, not a normal trade.

They were going to send two drills to Aguinaga originally but don’t have enough rigs. If they are still committing most of their resources to Alpala it must be good. It may take quite a bit of drilling to establish how large Aguinaga is but it is now confirmed mineralised, assays awaited - the assays will be telling but they say more mineralised at depth and haven’t found the core of the system. I reckon they will just want to stick a drill in each of the other targets inc trivinio. Defining the resource if it is so big could take years. At least they will have some idea and proof of what they have. Prove it is one big mineralised system and produce a revised Mre for Alpala with enough high grade to enable them hopefully to produce a pea/feasibility study.

Just bought a load because Ophir is trading at a big discount to its assets. It will turn at some point and it has a lot of catching up to do. The price of oil wont stay this low for ever and can't fall any further. It has always rebounded in the past. These shares are bought cheaply at the moment and should do well in the near future. No it isn't due to prices dropping recently, this cumulative losses starting to show on a very strained balance sheet. You cannot shift things around on a balance sheet to hide losses indefinitely. As I said before Shell should have backed out of the BG deal when it became apparent that their initial offer overvalued the business. They now have additional debt, overvalued assets which will have to be written down and have missed out on better opportunities elsewhere. The management of Shell were given the benefit of the doubt by institutional investors. IMHO it is now only a matter of time as to when not if the dividend has to be cut. The current dividend policy is unsustainable and could do considerable harm to shell's medium and long term growth prospects as they will have to cut investment too heavily and take on too much debt to maintain it. The price needs to rerate to take into account the risk to the dividend. They say never sell Shell, I already did.

At some point OPEC will cut production to support the market. But they won't do that until the shale industry in the US is decimated. Problem is that the Saudi's didn't realise that that US shale was heavily hedged against falling prices and US banks are reluctant to call time on the drilling co's as they would have to right off the debts. Now much of the hedging is running out and banks are going to have to declare some losses. Give it 6 to 12 months. We are at or near the bottom at prices because much production is unprofitable at these levels. Prices will end up higher and more volatile at the end of this cycle than they were at the beginning.
