Yeah pretty volatile. In many respects the situation Motif are in is pretty unique. It is high risk because Iclaprim was refused approval previously, but based on clinical need for new antibiotics and the results of the new trials it should get approval subject to sorting the liver tox issues. Share price decline has been worsened by weak holders (Amphion) and the lack of contingency planning and indebtedness on the part of Motif. So if this does turn out to be just a labelling issue, we are due one hell of a spike. Not that often you get a company which should have a market cap of zero or $1 billion!!!!

That could signal that a deal has been reached with institutional investors in return for temporary funding to get them to the FDA meeting. If I were an institutional investor I would have been pretty peeved about the lack of contingency planning. What may turn out to be a minor setback could have destroyed the company.

But the price don’t seem to want to rise...

There are some who wanted Nick Mather to sell out early and make a quick buck. That's why they are p@@@@d. In fact they are doubly p@@@@d because their money has been tied up so long and he is calling the shots. Nick Mather is determined to maximise value. He is acting in the best long term interests of shareholders. I have no doubt, given his track record of donations to charity and rewarding his staff, his background as a geologist, and the way he has built trust in Ecuador that he is entirely genuine.

Is absolutely crazy, never seen it this high.

I welcome the involvement of Newcrest but GGP seem to have given away control, most of the upside and most of the asset (70%) for a relatively small sum of money. When Solgold partnered with Newcrest, Nick Mather would only let them take a minority stake and retained full control of the asset and control of the drilling. I don’t think this is a good deal for shareholders.

If you look back at previous announcements, whenever they sold shares in Motif it was to institutional investors so the shares will not necessarily be sold on the open market. Surely all the bad news is priced in !!!

Looks to me like AMP were overleveraged and in debt. Their lender was okay to lend them money as the debt was partly secured against the shares in Motif owned by AMP. Now the value of Motif shares has crashed the lender is panicking and wants AMP to sell some of their shares in Motif to pay down the debt. Seems to be very similar to what Hercules Capital did with Motif, they are not interested in whether the drug will get approval, they just want to limit their potential losses if Motif fails altogether. Dumping $750,000 worth of shares may be unhelpful to Motif’s share price in the short term, but the key issues here are still whether Motif can secure short term funding and whether the issues the FDA have are just a stumbling block.

It had no effect on SP when Solgold got a dual listing on TSX. When GW Pharma got a dual listing on nasdaq though that went mental as they are keen on weed stocks in the US. Thing that shifts the price most with junior miners is interest from majors.

Looks to be bouncing over there. Lets hope it holds. Or maybe news pending?

The grades at Havieron appear to be much higher for both gold and copper grades, although deeper and Havieron appears to increase in grade at depth. However, although deeper Havieron has the advantage of being about 40km from Telfer which is fantastic because all the infrastructure to mine is there, water, transport, power station. You would just need to sink a mine shaft and build a rail connection. I know from previous presentations from Newcrest they have been scouting for any deposits within 50km to extend the life of Telfer beyond 2021. Wouldn't be surprised to see a tie up between Rio or Newcrest and GGP.

Forgot to mention Rio issued an RNS detailing the discovery on the ASX which has tables of all the grades.

The grades look to be good to me for copper and the gold and silver is a bonus, average mine grade is 0.6 and this is relatively shallow to presumably suited to open cast. It is also open in nearly every direction and at depth so could be a monster. Rio are only interested in tier 1 assets. It all looks good.

Last year drilling plans were released in an RNS on 14th February, drilling started in April. Therefore, it would seem likely there will be an RNS dropping any day now and that should support the share price. It will be interesting to see how much drilling they are intending to do and how many of the other targets they will drill, all the other companies operating in the Paterson area seem to be planning to do as much drilling as possible.

Lets just see what the FDA have to say. They may just want more information or require the drug to be labelled with a warning. Funding is the more immediate problem, but here is an investment with a potentially fantastic rate of return when and if this drug gets approval...

OMG. I knew we needed approval from FDA but the Swedish Mining Inspectorate as well? Can’t they just make the drug in a lab surely it doesn’t need to be mined? If they don’t grant a mining licence I dhall never buy a Volvo again.

That is currently under review as far as I am aware. But given the previous valuation of 95p, this could be due the mother of all bounces if the financing gets sorted.

I don’t think they really know where to place it. Some want out, some want in, many sat on the sidelines waiting to see which direction it’s headed.
