Aim is what it is, HIGH risk. I lost a lot on Falklands Oil, lost a lot on Motif Bio, but I made a fortune on GW Pharma and Solgold. HIGH risk means you can lose everything or multiply your cash 20 fold. It is not suitable for most smaller investors. There are plenty of high dividend yielding FTSE companies like Shell, BP, vodafone and legal and general that are less volatile and yield good dividends.

Solgold went to a £600 million market cap on a tier 1 discovery in Ecuador which is considered high risk (Rio got out years ago and said they would never go back). Is it ramping to say the share price has much higher to go here? It is a nailed on certainty i’d say.

I don’t think he has exited, looks to me more like top slicing. He had such a large holding it might have been difficult to liquidate it. Having bought in at a lower price he has banked his profits and now he has a stress free ride. The considerations as to when to buy, sell or hold are different when you have such a large holding, its much more risky. That risk cuts both ways though. To have accumulated such a large holding at such a low price. This will multibag several times from here if Havieron or Black Hills turn out to be another Telfer. Time will tell.
