I haven't a clue what the green blobs are on about, total tosh as usual, but let's not forget SEE is in the execution phase of not only the auto market but also Aviation and licensing in general and all the different sectors could at any time produce an RNS that could further lift the current optimistic stance of all but The Green Ones.

After all, the current situation hasn't affected a very relevant sector, namely the Military of which I recall SEE already is involved with.

Yes, an RNS would be good as that is what the market wants. However, that's the only thing that's missing. It is SEE, no one else can do it.

To get to Veoneers 640,000 units (is that across all models) covered in the contract or is it so 'competitive' in price any salesman worth his/her salt will sell them like hotcakes?

Exactly. It's not just as simple as Tesla are trying to imply (any old camera etc), I suspect there will be some engineering pre sale required before it means anything. Meanwhile, any Tesla sold with Autopilot /FSD and no DMS is a distraction event accident waiting to happen and any new models come 2022 will struggle to be sold in the EU.

Yes, it can confuse. But, whether it's 2 or 4, it highlights a basic difference between SEE and the rest of which SEYE is a very good example. SEE has IP that is worth protecting and on an ongoing basis whereas SEYE would appear not to as the IP value, and therefore tech, is not so valuable.

People in the past have moaned about the amount SEE spend on R&D but without it, SEE would be on the cusp as it is right now. Even though it may have been reined in at present, it's part of SEE and could be the most valuable part. On the flip side, SEYE (like others) is not R&D, it really does not spend that much on it and hence could be usurped from its world leading convenience DMS position.

SEYE 's target audience for their boasting is roughly 99.9% unaware of there being any' issues ' with its tech and follow the words of Martin and also Viktor (when it suits) as Gospel and are convinced SEYE are the worlds leading eye tracking company and, regardless of BMW, it will win all of the OEMs it has business and all of the others as well, the latest one being discussed is all of Volkswagen.

This potentially being on the eve of the reveal of the F150 which due to probably underpromisng on the contract size, it's possible that one SEE win (admittedly SEE charge roughly twice what SEYE does) will match or even beat 24 SEYE design wins. Of course, the reason SEE can charge twice that of SEYE and still get a contract such as Ford (or any other one for that matter) is lost on the 99.9%. But, JC, I think you and I know the reasons.

Sort of. I believe SEYE, along with other 'DMS' providers were invited but that is not to say the testing criteria will be based on a combination of SEE, SEYE, Eyesight, Jungo etc product. Rather ENCAP will live up to its name when it finally issues protocols. Safety or convenience is at the core of it and looks like the Secretary General wants more of the former.

What is interesting is the Cenkos note from CES, SEYE didn't sound so sure then?

Not really, it will really hit the automotive industry in 5-10 years. Take Europe as the starting point -

2022 new models require DMS for drowsiness
2024 - advanced DMS required for all new models
2026 - all new vehicles, not models require advanced DMS.

Europe is leading the way, the US is dragging its heels a bit so 5-10 years is about right. It's really only beginning.

Yes, optional so it says but Veoneer are still expecting to ship 640,000 units and 640,000 units is just about in line with US 2019 sales. As the article, and others, on the F150 and E Mustang, the 'Level 2+' inclusive of DSM will be able to be switched o and as it's a chip the chip will have to be in situ for it to do anything if it's switched on. So, whether it's on or not, chosen or not, Veoneer and SEE still get paid. Probably makes economic sense as well if Ford is selling in such large numbers as compared to the CT6 which sold only 8,000 in the USA last year.

Joyson in another lifetime were Takata who were the Tier 1 for the Cadillac CT6, the extension RNS was/is believed to cover mainly (or all) models in the Cadillac but quite probably the Escalade to start with.
