Yes, SEE has that covered as well. And, even though it's the cheapest on a chip, it also actually does what ENCAP wants. From the feedback from Cenkos, SEYE weren't sure it would even meet basic ENCAP DMS requirements, we're even talking advanced here.

I suspect though in the bloodbath that is also known as China (DMS) the cheapest DMS keeps getting cheaper, last heard it was US $3 a unit.

One reason amongst many, SEE isn't keen on China. Of course, SEYE has totally different reasons for concentrating on China which ain't hard to guess.

Even when you're talking about basic DMS, it comes down to availability. SEYE cannot get close to 100% availability as SEE does unless it uses more than one camera, as per its demonstration at CES.

Likewise Super Cruise, for anyone to believe SEYE may somehow be in some models would mean SEYE unannounced, which is so un SEYE like, had made, for it, a massive step forward due to its very modest R&D spend and lack of real time data, purely relying on a grand sounding AI set up.

Simply put, anything that is remotely Level 2 and above, needs SEE. Even in China, but due to its latitude, SEYE and other convenience providers will be used. Keep your eye on Tesla type crashes in China......

Good point. It's not only trucks /lorries that might be faced with that conundrum, there's a number of car manufacturers whose total annual sales come nowhere near even the CT6.

We know Continental and maybe Bosch has their own version which could maybe be adapted, dependent on what is required, for all car, vans, trucks, lorries, maybe also buses.

Also a good point from Mr BB. I don't think necessarily trucks /lorries automatically have the monitoring option, although it could be on the menu and who knows, maybe additional insurance considerations, will encourage/entice customers to opt for the all singing and all dancing version.

Er, SEE has done the old number at RFQ/RFI stage and it didn't go too well. Early 2019, when SEE were probably starting the placement process, in its trading update it said 6 were at RFQ stage (and hoped to complete by 30/06/19) and had sight of 5 more before the year end and I believe we're still waiting for 3/4 of the first lot and all of the last lot (last BMW extension was totally unexpected I think) so that didn't manage people's expectations very well.

As for the imminent Aviation licencing deal.....

But, yes, PR etc is rank. The fanfare of a new US broker but no one told them, a note is usually required. And so on......

I suspect it's for the same reason it's a requirement for Europe. More so for the authorities to learn from the data. Also, as an added bonus, who's responsible for any accident.

Exactly right because at the moment, that's all it is and as S2020 said a few days ago, it's quite probable that SEE, due to Byton being a start up, the contract was front loaded.

Also, due to NDAs, how does SEE say it's Chinese OEM is in difficulty and might not proceed blah blah, without as good as break the NDA?

Yes, you're probably spot on. The Kuga has Co-pilot360 so it's just a question of when certain functions are added. Even the Fiesta has it. Surely made for made to measure functions, such as in Europe, DMS to DSM.

Most interesting bit for me in Colin's article was the Mobileye mention near the end. Mobileye had/has 65% in its particular niche. Back at CMD, the top two mentioned by Colin were SEE (40/45%) and Mitsubishi (15/20%).with the rest nowhere, 3 or 4 mentioned getting 5-7%.

In his latest article, Mitsubishi, who were second on the list has vanished and now the mention of Mobileye. Taken together, the higher of the two figures, we get 65% or Mobileye type domination (I prefer ARM like).

So, only (2) conclusion is either Colin's forgot Mitsubishi or they are no longer a player and were SEEs only credible competitor.
