If Lucid is serious about L2/3, it has to go for SEE. Otherwise, after trumpeting its differences against Tesla, it had an embarrassing accident whilst one of its vehicles had DMS which missed a vital edge case incident leading to an accident.

Will we get an RNS about it? Not sure, initial sales figures might lead to a quite low contract value even with NRE. Is it significant in another way? Again, debateable other than it looking great.

This could be a very common scenario. Some vehicles like the Mclaren sell very low numbers obviously but will still need DMS. Who deals with them? Continental or the like on licence?

Wasn't it 40-45% and privately 50%. I wouldn't disagree with DT, it could very well end up as he describes it, no way are going to put tech that may not be up to the job for the sake of multi suppliers with a limit put on how much each supplier. Regardless of continually being reminded of the limit (which has crept up) OEMs will do what's in their best interests as was the case with Mobileye as Mr BB pointed out.

But more ARM like than Mobileye.

Nvidia has been saying for some time it has its own DMS, whether it truly has is another question. They were quite friendly with SEYE for a time as well but that went quiet some time ago.

The problem Nvidia has, or did, other than there's a bit more to it than people think, is it's set up uses a heck of power up and it has a tendency to fry stuff. Leading to another DMS user, software, chip, having to be used.

Yes very true. However let's be generous to others purportedly in the same field. SEE has 3 legs to its stool and it also has 3 pillars. Whereas SEYE has at best one full one and a bit or half dependent on stool or pillars. Hardly surprising considering the lack of R&D but then that needs cash which it ain't got and if the BMW X3 is anything to go by is going to get worse.

All SEYE has done since Europe is grab some easy Chinese pickings which shouldn't concern us or SEE.

Best SEE concentrate on what it does which yesterday's RNS gave some pretty big pointers to and let others squabble over China.

And wait, of course, for the next financially significant RNS.

No, if the journalist is correct, this could be the first of the emergency order, maybe the first but probably the second extension from last year.

The BMW X3 IS a SEYE model, for now, was on the road around June 2018, not named until about a year later. SEYE reckons its contracts last about 7 years. Oops

You could be right but that's what is probably missing from SEYEs contract with BMW. Also, experience of OEMs is they can be slow to react.

The first BMW will probably be the iNext if I recall the name right. It may well be that the X3 is SEE for a few reasons, namely BMW did extend the order twice last year and all the previous SEYE BMWs with similar tech were tentatively semi autonomous at best. Also I think BMW were for a better reception but the simple fact is no one can remember what cars it's in.

I hope it is SEE but if it ain't the X3, there's still one missing for SEYE. Pre regulation, it is likely some will be SEYE, after less so.
