Maybe, maybe not. For SEYE though, the sad truth is that it's possible, bar minor engineering fees (as its business model assumes the Tier 1 will do most of the work with SEYEs hardware agnostic software, that it will get minimal fees from its Gen1 offering. Despite, what appears a few short lived BMW models, nothing else has got to SOP. And it would appear, if the Polestar is anything to go by, nothing else is expected in the near future. And that is a big gap. Which will continue for another 3-4 years. Gen2 models will kick in but that gap remains. What TLS said yesterday is probably pretty close to the truth. Factor in the loss of Gen1 licence fees and at the very least you put profitability back by some time, especially if concentrating on China.
So, maybe, maybe not. Only when it's apparent SEYE has lost more than it wishes to admit, will it have to admit it. Unless it sells beforehand.
