RE: Next Placing11 Jan 2019 15:47
Re Chelsea7’s prediction of a placing at .35 I looked back at the pattern before the last consolidation, because they can’t issue shares below the nominal value of the shares. I was sceptical that another placing could be brewing so soon, so had a look back to last time. In March 2015 they raised 800,000 pounds by a placing at 0.2 pence per share. This is nearly three times their current ‘label’ price but it was before the last consolidation, so the price today is equivalent to .006p against that .2p of 2015. Satu said at the time of that placing ‘this and our recent placings to raise £1.6 million gross in under three months, is an endorsement of the progress we are making and will provide ValiRx with the means to continue to unlock value for shareholders.’ Make of the second half of that sentence what you will, but there had been a flurry of raising ahead of the announcement which came about 8 weeks later in May 2015 that they were going to consolidate the shares at 125 to 1, otherwise they would be unable to raise any further funds by dilution. So the issued share capital of 3,772,151,750 shares was reorganised into 30,177,214 shares. Four months later in September 2016 they raised £2,450,000, before expenses, through the subscription by YA Global Master SPV Ltd of 8,161,637 new ordinary shares at 30.018p each. Other raisings followed on a regular basis as is well known and I won’t go into detail on those.
Those 30 million post-consolidation shares are now just shy of 600 million, a 20 fold increase, and the share price has dropped by 97 percent, from the 30p at the time of the Yorkville CLN to 0.75p. The market cap of the company is now about 4.8 million, a far cry from raising half that amount in one deal with Yorkville, so the scope for raising any significant amount is diminishing fast. If (as is suggested) a deal is imminent, then the sp would undoubtedly rocket, and I might well kick myself for missing it, but it would need to be very soon indeed. When I read the link to AdamBrown’s tweet today I saw his question about a P3 trial, but the response from Suzy Dilly made no mention of anything specific at all – ‘Next steps will be announced just as soon as plans are confirmed.’ So the plans for the steps aren’t even finalised. If she had said ‘we look forward to a P3 starting in the near future’ or better still ‘by end of Q1, H1 or similar’ then even better. But no – the question from AdamBrown of ‘When do you expect the phase 3 trial to start’ was met with a pure sidestep.
We have now seen two raises in quick succession to raise roughly 1.5 million, which imo strongly echoes the first quarter of 2015. One more raise will see the sp at a point where a further raise will be impossible without consolidating, and at the current mcap things look sufficiently poor that I am still not putting my hand in my pocket for these shares. It is fast reaching the point that even if the science is good, the sands of time are running out .
